Great Family Reunion

Our family of 16 really enjoyed the location of this house. Close enough to many activities as well as a nice hike right out the door. The views of the lake were amazing, especially in the morning with a cup of coffee. Deck was perfect to host dinners each night. The room accommodations fit our family perfect. Our kids and grandkids loved each of the activities we had made available, such as tram to High Camp of Olympic Village, boat to Emerald Bay, rafting, zip-lining, and Donner Lake for kayaking and swimming.

Very nice place

Place is not too old and great space for pur group. We liked that it has a lot of utensils and cooking ware. Very close to a sledding and snowboarding resort. The beach access is too far from the place.

Weekend Trip

Mike’s house was the perfect stay for our larger group. Close to Tahoe city, with an unbelievable view of the Lake. Enough room for us all the comfortably hang out on the deck or in the living room. And tons of bed space for us all to sleep perfect

Family Reunion

The intro when booking is very ,very misleading. This house is not WATERFRONT OR BEACH FRONT. You have beach access after a 30 min. walk or 5 min drive. You do have great views of Lake Tahoe.House was great, kitchen, living/family rooms, bedrooms were great. Ping Pong, Pool table area was great. Check in was a nightmare. Did not receive code until day off, after instructions said day before, I had to e-mail for the code. We were told by the host that we could check in at 2pm code did not work until 4pm. lock boxes did not work. instructions and pictured showed an awing, no remote control and it was put together. Received full instruction on how everything worked the day after we check in. including lock box and wifii instructions. Do not need lock box key to enter.With all that said our family's had a great time and I would book it again

Lots of space for the money

The place was perfect for 12 older guys, each wanting their own room. Plenty of room to spread out. As others said, the house could use a couple of days of upkeep (broken lamps, loose things), but overall, the place was amazing. Thank you Michael.

College reunion weekend stay

This property is well-equipped to sleep 22 with ease. The views from the deck/hot tub are phenomenal and this is the perfect location for a very reasonable price. This place is equipped with all of the kitchen appliances (oven/grill/stove/pots and pans/etc) that you need to feed a huge group. Location is ideal, as you are a short drive to downtown and within a 30 minute drive for any of the great beaches/hikes/nature/ski resorts that Tahoe has to offer.

Family Reunion

The property was excellent for a family reunion. Large kitchen, plenty of bedrooms, large living area adjacent to kitchen for gatherings and wonderful view of Lake Tahoe. This property is two story and there are 20 steps to get to the upper level where the living, eating and kitchen area are. The majority of our group (18) were age 70 and older and did find the steps a bit much. Something to consider in booking this property. Overall the property suited us well in our reunion.

Poor condition

If you’re renting this place for a bachelor party then have fun. The pictures presented do not accurately reflect the condition of the premises. The primary couch was absolutely filthy and in no way would we let kids go near it. The carpet needs to be replaced as it is dirty and worn. The grill literally has duct tape holding the handle in place and the bottom fell out when we attempted to grill steaks. I won’t even mention the hot tub. Again duct tape holding the corner together and the water a putrid cloud of grey. Linens need to be replaced as well. We actually left a day earlier because of the conditions I cannot recommend this place at all. Our family has stayed at VRBO properties around the country and in Europe and this is by far the worst place we have stayed. I

Property as described

We had a small problem w access to the trash cans but this was resolved 48 hours later. Manager could have a better way to contact him on the listing as I was relying on vrbo messaging bc no emergency phone number was listed anywhere. We did resolve the issue quickly once I was able to contact the property manager, he we very responsive. We enjoyed our time, there was so much snow and the woods behind the house has many miles of cross country ski trails and we enjoyed petting the dogs of the neighborhood! The views are amazing but all the snow on the deck blocks the view from the house. Too much snow is definitely a good problem to have if you’re in Tahoe to ski. Renters should be aware we could not fit any cars in the garage as they are too shallow unless you have a small sedan. Overall a great time w friends, close to ski resorts and large enough for multiple families, we will be back.

Not what we expected

We rented this house because of it's size and location. We had a very short family reunion and we're a large group. This place does have a nice view and yes the house is large. What we were all surprised by was how run down the place really is. The online pictures look nice and that is what we expected for the price we paid. But oh my were we wrong. I actually took pictures and sent them to the owner, as I'm not sure how much he visits the place himself. I also sent a list of the things that were broken and some things that we viewed as an actual safety hazard. There are some wooden picnic tables outside of the large room with a nice pool table in it. They were in such bad shape that we had to keep the little kids away from them. There was a broken dresser in that pool room also. The nice red very large couch you see in the pictures is so badly stained and actually has a broken arm that someone stuffed down between two of the cushions. It was disgusting, but it's the main place you have to sit. The other couch was not bad, but it wasn't big enough for us all to sit and visit. I won't list everything that is wrong with the place, but needless to say, we would never go back. The owner did respond and said he would have things fixed immediately. I have no way of knowing if that happened or not. If you don't care about how rundown the place is, it is a nice big space and it's in a good location. It's just not up to the quality we expected with a VRBO rental.

A wonderful Week Full of Forced Family Fun

We have had a week-long family reunion annually for about 30 years, and after a couple of decades away we returned to Lake Tahoe, this time near Tahoe City instead of Donner/Truckee. This property held 24 of us, with 10 bedrooms, and a large deck with a beautiful view of the lake. We were able to get to pony rides and trail rides on horseback, raft the Truckee and do a zip line and ropes adventure (very close) without experiencing the terrible traffic in Tahoe City. We took a cruise on the Tahoe Gal. We drove to Sand Harbor for the Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. We saw at least 2 bears on different occasions, so it is good to be careful. Follow the owner’s instructions for the bear boxes. Everyone loved the facility and the location. I was told that it was the best reunion ever! I highly recommend this rental.

Excellent for large groups

If you are looking to stay with a large group of friends or family, this is a great property. The lake views from the living room(s), and balcony / hot tub were beautiful. Everyone got their own king sized bed, and there were three separate living areas to hang out in plus a giant kitchen and balconey. The host was responsive and accommodating. The location near was super convenient for skiing Palisades.

Beautiful Tahoe

Great place for my friends and their families and mine for a killer long ski weekend. Michael was a great host and provided us all the info we needed. The view of Lake Tahoe was amazing.

Tahoe stay

We had three families with six kids under three years old. It was the perfect house to allow the kids to play outside in the snow and had a good game room for all the kids to play. I recommend bringing a kids gate for the stairs since they are very steep. Overall, a good house for kids.

The good, the bad and the ugly

The Good: The layout of the house was perfect for our group of 16. We loved the spacious kitchen, ample seating in the dining room and on the deck, and the incredible view of the lake. Being close to hiking trails was a bonus, and the location is convenient, with shops, grocery store, and restaurants nearby. The Bad: The house could use some TLC. One sleeper sofa was broken, and the host said to place a couch cushion under the leg. Another sleeper sofa was horribly uncomfortable. A first-floor shower was held together with duct tape. Additionally, there are many steps in the house, which is challenging for anyone with mobility issues. About 10 days before arrival, the host reached out, saying he needed my signed contract, credit card and drivers license. This was not in the listing. The Ugly: The house is not air-conditioned. There is one portable unit in the living room/kitchen, but it was insufficient to cool the entire house and didn’t blow cold air. The host provided additional fans, but they only circulated hot air. The lower level, which the host claimed would stay cool, was also hot. While the layout is great for a large group, the listing is misleading. It is not a lakefront/beachfront house; it’s a 5-minute drive to the beach. Furthermore, the house is not fully air-conditioned, and the air conditioner in the one air-conditioned room didn’t work. He hired a handyman who came out and said the air conditioner was broken, but the host refuses to believe this.

All in all a perfect stay for our family reunion with breathtaking views of the lake.

The house was big enough for our large family reunion to accommodate all comfortably with lots of space when needed. The billiard table and ping pong table provided fun and entertainment. It happened to be unusually hot during our stay for Lake Tahoe and the little AC unit was challenged but we spent most of our time during the day exploring the surrounding area and usually would not be a problem under normal conditions. A few issues came up that needed addressing, however the host Michael made him self available for all my calls and addressed each issue which should not be an issue going forward, as it was taken care of. All in all I am very appreciative of Michael being a responsible host and providing such a beautiful setting for our family to become reacquainted with each other, share meals together and have interesting conversations around the large table inside and outside. All in all I recommend the house for large groups.

Leadership Work Retreat

We had an amazing stay, with plenty of space for team meetings and breakouts throughout the week. Technology and WiFi worked great. The deck and view of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding basin were incredible. The kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable. The beds were very comfortable. Thanks for sharing your home!

Amazing location, great family reunion spot, but needs some TLC

This was a great location and we had a wonderful family reunion! The kitchen and porch with a hot tub are amazing!! We recommend this location for another family, but the place does need some attention and upkeep. The pull out sofa beds are broken and the sofa bed mattresses were very uncomfortable. The rooms are small and a bit dark. The beach/park access is great tho and overall the good outweighed everything else!!
