Beautiful, peaceful, secluded mountain getaway for the whole family
Our family of five including two teenagers and our dog enjoyed a very peaceful, fun filled week at this lovely property in Bear Lake Reserve. The booking process and communicating with the owner was super easy. The house is lovely and well appointed, spotlessly clean upon our arrival and well stocked for everything we needed. The beds were all very comfortable & no complaints about the WiFi speed from our teens. We got essentially zero cell phone service but with WiFi calling -- both in the house and at the Lake Club -- it wasn't a problem. The stocked fishing pond is literally across the street (you can say "dinner is ready" from the front door and your teen's will hear you...) and through a short path is the amphitheater with the disc golf course and popular for playing fetch. The Lake Club was about a 15 minute drive, albeit a very windy mountain road. Once there, there is literally something for everyone -- beach, pool, gym, games, restaurants. We had brought our own SUPs and were able to rent (just $30) a spot to leave them at the lake club -- avoiding putting them on the roof every day. Please do heed the owner's advice to stop in town before heading into the Condo as it is a solid 30 minutes drive to the nearest full grocery store. And you will want to print out directions, because you will lose cell service in the mtns. We arrived after dark which made driving more difficult but the directions are good. Much easier with daylight...

Peaceful and Relaxing
This was our first trip to the area. The home was fantastic, well maintained, and the kitchen well equipped. The screened porch was a wonderful place to read at night and relax with the sound of the two nearby streams cascading over the rocks. Very peaceful and private setting. Highly recommend.

We had a great time staying at Bear Lake! The house was exactly as described! Beds were comfy, house was clean, outside fireplace was perfect to use in the evening. The Lake Club is everything you are looking for in a mountain resort. We enjoyed renting a pontoon boat and tubing in the lake. Dinner at the lake club restaurant was really good! Overall had an amazing time!

Mountain Bliss
What a dream! The house was PERFECT! The location is a bit remote, but it has everything you'll need right outside the front door. The gated community is safe and pristine. The hiking trails in the neighborhood are literally right next door. The area isn't crowded at all, so it feels like you have a whole mountainside to yourself. However, the front gatehouse is less than a 3 min walk and has all of the essentials... Milk, coffee, toilet paper, etc. Although, the house is fully stocked, so we didn't even have to go there. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a Thanksgiving dinner! Pots, pans, spices... It had it all! And the lodge is amazing with a fantastic restaurant if you want to have a date night or take a break from cooking. Mark is attentive and responded quickly to all of my questions. He also provides a great book of attractions and guides to the surrounding areas to ensure a great holiday. My family and I truly will remember this trip forever! Thanks so much, Mark, for sharing your home with us!

Great location for access to Castle Ladyhawke
My son and his fiance were getting married at Castle Ladyhawke and we needed a place to stay for my husband and I, my brother, and his wife. This home proved to be very convenient as it was a short drive to the castle (less than 15 minutes) and only about 20 minutes to the Lake Club for the other wedding events. Besides the great location, the home was very comfortable. In particular, the master bedroom and bath are quite spacious. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the living room was perfect for relaxing. We were pretty busy with wedding events, but the screened in porch was inviting and we certainly would have enjoyed it even more if we had been able to stay longer. Thankfully we had great Internet and were able to set our phones for WI-FI calling. Finally, the owner was terrific at communication. We had all the information we needed. This is an A++++ recommendation from someone who owns a property in Florida and knows what a good property owner should do.

Great stay!
Our family enjoyed our time at Bear Lake. The house is located very close to the entrance of the property. It was clean and stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our time there. Our boys loved playing in the creek that is across the street! As others mentioned, Bear Lake Reserve is a very large community and it does take about 20 minutes to get to the Lake Club due to the winding roads - however - the Lake Club is amazing! We enjoyed the pool, sunset cruise and kayaking!

The cottage accommodated our family very well. The porch is the best place to relax!
To me, the best thing about this property is the location. We were very close to the Greeters Cottage which made access on and off the property easy. We were right across the street from the Mill Pond, which was gorgeous! The guys in our family loved fishing in the pond. They caught a lot of beautiful speckled trout, which they released. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the lake house. We are from Louisiana and we are not used to all of the curves in the mountain driving. The lake and pool area is absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed sitting under the shade trees on the beach enjoying the lake views. We took an early morning pontoon boat ride around the lake. We were blessed to stay for 10 nights which gave us plenty time to enjoy the property and the surrounding area. We were able to go to Biltmore Estate and also hike to many waterfalls in the area. I can’t wait to go back and I would like to stay in the same cottage.
