Guests can step back in time into this 1890's shop-keepers' homes turned to Lofts Over Main, where you can sleep under the sheets and over the streets. If you love vintage, rustic, yet minimalistic and modern, then come experience 1890's architecture as you climb into your next adventure here at the Lofts Over Main. Formerly downtown shop-keepers homes above where some of the earliest 19th century business owners would have taken root, now the whimsical, upscale lofts are located just minutes from your next adventure. The Lofts Over Main were completely renovated in 2017 by the owners for guests to enjoy Main Street living such as walkability to restaurants, taprooms, boutique shops, antique stores, coffee shops and museums.

Hiking boots on, fishing poles loaded and a short canoe trip down the river lands you in one of our two 850 square foot LOFTS OVER MAIN for a restful evening to embrace tranquility. Our lofts create the nostalgia you'd expect in a shop-keepers quarters ranging from exposed brick walls, vintage furniture and romantic chandeliers. The custom cabinetry frames a modern kitchen, containing elegant stainless steel appliances and vintage tables. The 15-foot tall ceilings are accented with rustic stained wood boards and give the perfect accent to the original wooden floors from the late 1800's building. The adjustable lighting in the Lofts cast off a romantic glow to be tailored for your perfect evening. Keeping the original wood flooring, you can almost hear the shop keepers' as they are coming home from their day of work from Main Street below.

Each Loft has its own sophisticated style, including our custom designed showers. You will experience 5-star comfort on our luxurious mattresses, lavished with down bedding and sheets suitable for a king and his queen on your journey to a deep night's sleep. Rise and shine with a hot cup of Joe and it's off to venture down Main Street or head to one of the nearby waterfalls or the historic Stump House Tunnel!

THE CHATTOOGA STUDIO:Entering into the Chattooga Studio of the Lofts Over Main, float down memory lane of old scenes from the original Nicholson Family home place on the Chattooga River from the early 1900's. Decor lends itself to an outdoor adventurers' oasis, also complete with authentic, local memorabilia.

CHATTOOGA STUDIOS AMENITIES:

~The LOFTS OVER MAIN are the only place to stay on Main Street Walhalla, are within walking distance to several restaurants and night life. They are just miles from any outdoor adventureman's favorite hideaways including Stumphouse Tunnel, the Chattooga River, Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee. ~ Enjoy a furnished kitchen (stove, refrigerator, coffee maker), King size bed, and a couch. ~ Units have heating and air conditioning. ~ Guests have 100% privacy from each unit to come and go as you please. Bring a cooler with food and drinks or enjoy our list of local fine dining favorites. ~Need more beds? Feel free to bring an air mattress if you need to sleep more than 2. ~ Our condos are the perfect place for any one needing to rest between hikes or simply stay close by in Oconee County!

Lofts Over Main is located above our favorite OUTDOOR ADVENTURE STORE, 28West! And, is in walking distance to Walhalla's famous "Steakhouse" and favorite coffee and ice cream shop "CC Fudge & More."

Parking is available on Main Street level directly in front of entrance.

EVENTS/LARGE PARTIES:

We do welcome special occasions at the Lofts Over Main. The spaces lend perfectly for bridal showers, birthdays, holiday gatherings or a studio for photography session, we are happy to work with you in advance. Please contact us for a quoted rate based on usage. ONLY AUTHORIZED EVENTS ARE ALLOWED. You will be asked to leave with no refunds, including loss of your security deposit, if it is determined that any unauthorized guests are on the property. 1. Instant book for events is not permitted. 2. Duration of events is limited to 5 hours. 3. Event times are between 12:00 pm and 10:00 pm. 4. Host agrees to not giving building OR room codes to anyone and will personally open and lock all doors to property.5. A deposit will be collected based on the nature of the gathering. 6. Must be at least 30 years of age with valid ID to book events.

I used this spot as a home base for some hiking at Oconee State Park & Stumphouse Tunnel, and it did not disappoint! It’s a very well done renovation of a very old and creaky building, but it was pretty spectacular.

This space is so rad! My 17 year old son and I stayed here after a funeral. We were both feeling low, but pulling up in front of the loft instantly cheered us a bit. The further we got into the loft and the more we saw, the more our sadness faded. It's teen approved as "cool", lol. We met the renters of the other unit once, but otherwise barely knew they were there. There is a tavern behind the loft that we didn't go to, but we could hear live music playing outside (it was a Friday night). I opened the back window and let the soft sounds float in - it was very soothing after such a hard morning. Music ended promptly at 10pm and after closing the window, the noise from below wasn't a bother at all. The loft is on popular street, so there was street traffic outside the window by the bed, but it wasn't too bad. The owners have everything covered at this place. Amazing k-cups, soft towels, a cozy bed, and a very helpful binder with local to-dos. Also, communication was fantastic. THANK YOU! I already want to go back.

We enjoyed our stay at the lofts over main. It was clean and cozy. There was great coffee, restaurants, and shopping close by. We enjoyed trout fishing a short drive away. The property manager was excellent. The loft was a great place for a calm relaxing get away.

Enjoyed a long weekend getaway to this quaint town. Great location to access lakes and waterfalls. Just enough restaurant options and plenty of friendly folks. Didn’t get to hike all the waterfalls on my list so will definitely be back to Walhalla!

The Lofts Over Main represent the perfect blend of refined and rustic. The loft is a perfect blend of old and new, and is centrally located within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Loved this VRBO! Historic yet updated with unique rustic décor! Comfortable bed, comfortable temperature. Appreciated the "little extras": Tea, Keurig with variety of k-cups and provided 2 doggie bowls and food mat. This loft was cute and cozy and appreciated local small town shops and restaurants.

My dog and I had an absolute wonderful weekend getaway! Beautifully decorated and very clean. Love Mountain Mocha (coffee shop next door). Great restaurants within walking distance. Nice hiking trails close by. Will definitely recommend.

Great space, needs a couple fixes
We enjoyed our time here, and agree with other reviews; great location, design and amenities. As honest feedback though, there are a few things that could be addressed to make it even better: 1. The street entrance door no longer latches; so every time you leave, you have to stand there and hold the door closed for a minute or so until the auto lock engages. 2. The king mattress has huge dip on one side; another reviewer mentioned it as well. 3. The yoga studio below has aerial chains hanging from the ceiling; when they are being used, the noise upstairs is loud and crazy, like sitting inside a giant coffee maker. Not sure if there's anything you can do about it, and it was only for an hour or so mid-morning, but we would probably choose the other loft next time if it's available for this reason. Overall, still a great option for staying in Walhalla.

Rustic Sophistication & Dog Friendly with Easy Access to Everything - BEST Vrbo I've ever booked!
I cannot say enough about Lofts over Main or their owners. The space was a charming nod to its roots without over-the-top theme decorating. Honestly, I'd like to hire their designer to outfit our house! It was full of thoughtful details that makes the loft special. The shower alone is worth the stay. They even had a cute set up for my dog's food and water. Yes, they allow dogs!!! I have a 65 pound German Shepherd/Husky mix. As a woman traveling alone with my dog, I felt completely safe. There is a code needed to access the lofts from the outside and a different code needed to access each loft. It's located walking distance to great restaurants and shops. I had an incredible dinner outside at dog-friendly Gather with locally sourced food, and right next door is a great breakfast smoothie place. Since I came to hike with my dog and kayak to waterfalls at Lake Jocasse, Lofts on Main location was ideal! We hiked at Stumphouse and to Yellow River Falls, both dog-friendly hikes nearby the loft. When I kayaked Jocassee via Devils Fork, it was an easy drive and I hired a great dog sitter to come walk JD while I was gone. Speaking of walking your dog, there is an empty lot next to Arby's and if you go right out of the Lofts on Main to the stop light and go right down that street, there is an overgrown lot on your left. Thank you Meghan and Jared for the delightful stay in what is the best Vrbo I've ever booked, and I've booked a lot of Vrbos through the years.

The Chattanooga loft condo is a perfect place for two to getaway and still be near shopping and restaurants. Such a cool renovation with antique/industrial design and decor. Really loved it here.
