Book direct with the property and maybe you'll be put in an updated/clean room. We paid for a suite. Ours was obviously not cleaned/used in a long time nor had it been updated for refreshed furniture, carpet, window treatments, or anything else in a long time. The room was not clean - there was visible standing dust on the window treatments, the couch in the sitting area had had haphazard repairs made to the fabric that were obvious, and the windows and mirrors in the unit were not clean - had fingerprints and splash marks from who knows. We only needed the place for one night so the hotel either stuck us in this room because of the short duration of our stay, or the fact we booked it through Expedia. We were on our way somewhere else so I didn't want to get into a discussion with the staff there but it was a major disappointment. I chose Hyatt because it is supposed to be a good brand and I've stayed in the past at different properties of theirs. This was likely the last experience we'll have with Hyatt unless for some reason it is the only option available. Beyond the cleanliness issue, the hotel has no ATM if needed, no sundries store if needed, and while the onsite restaurant is nice, the menu is very limited in items and times of day that items are available. All in all, about the only positives were the front desk staff and the valet parking staff. Beyond that, there are other nice hotels available in the Foggy Bottom area - I'd choose another.
