"We arrived at 9:30 PM and found the hotel entrance locked. The front desk was unattended, and I had to call to get someone to let us in. Unfortunately, things only got worse once we entered our room. In the bathroom, we found a pair of dirty underwear, and there was also a pair of used socks left in the room. In all my years of traveling, I have never experienced anything like this, even at budget hotels with poor ratings. The next morning, I took photos and sent them to the front desk. The employee gave me her personal phone number so I could text the pictures directly to her, and she said she would share them with management. Needless to say, after finding personal items from previous guests in the room, I questioned how well the room had been cleaned. I could hardly sleep, wondering about the cleanliness of the sheets and pillows. We woke up early and left as soon as possible. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had."

"I came in late at night and was nearly taken by the aura of the inn. Apparently it dates back to the 1760s. My room had high ceilings and fine wood details likely from the early 19th century or maybe late 18th century. If you're a history buff, you can't have a better location than this because Newtown is full of colonial houses and colonial era history from William Penn onwards."

"Although the room was clean the bathroom floor was slippery even in bare feet. The mattresses were not comfortable at all. Breakfast the next morning was sub par and overly expensive. The second night was awful. There was a storm and the hotel lost power, but only partial. One elevator out of three worked and some rooms had power, no wifi at all. Although this was due to natural causes which is understandable we needed electricity for our cpap machines. The hotel staff gladly changed our room to one with power but it was still an inconvenience packing and moving again. The next morning the hotel was still without power and still only one elevator working. Upon checkout we asked what kind of refund we would be getting and were told none, we would be getting Bonvoy points. As my husband and I don’t travel that much, due to health issues, money would be appreciated more than points."
