“Most powerful shower I've ever been blasted by, instant hot water too. Room ok, The hotels inability to provide a fridge even when it's for critical-for-life medicines is a bit troublesome and will probably force me to stay elsewhere when I'm back in Ayr later this year. Breakfast is menu-ordered. Very tasty but far too small given the continental buffet options were extraordinarily limited.”

“I moved to this hotel because they told me they had a working fan and a view of the sea with adequate sea breeze to cool off the room. The room was extremely warm and the fan did not work very well and I had to stay there for two nights with an extremely warm room also the the hotel is a bit rundown and the carpet in the room had stains.”

“The room was very hot. There was only a thick duvet on the bed, so if you’re like me (I need to be covered when I sleep) it was extremely uncomfortable. Also, no fans provided to cool down the room. A second issue were the toilets. In order to fully flush the toilet (which is required when travelling) you had to pull the handle past 45 degrees with quite a bit of pressure. Both my husband and I thought we were going to break the toilet. No instructions were given. We have travelled extensively……

“My stay at the Mercure suited me perfectly. I was close to the train station so I could easily walk up & travel to Glasgow, and also have a pleasant stroll along the promenade. The polite barman ensured I had a nice glass of wine to relax at the end of the day. The reception staff gave me a cheery welcome back wave me when I returned in the evening. But the highlight was the seagulls' nest right outside my bedroom window and seeing the 3 babies being cared for by their parents. In general, a……

“Incredible opulence. Views overlooking golf course and a light house on the ocean. Outstanding spa. Breakfast is very good with a variety of choices. 9 hole pitch and putt course for guests. ”

“Have been before to this boutique hotel and the standard has never failed. Guy on reception was friendly and pleasant. Advised that food wasn’t available atm in the hotel but that he would telephone two down at the Seamill Hydro Hotel for dinner and gave us a voucher for breakfast at same hotel. Dinner booking was abit late for us so declined and went elsewhere. The breakfast was lovely at the Hydro. Hotel was nice and warm, room and bathroom spotless. Would return and recommend to others”

“Room was spotless, great shower. Bed was really comfortable. The food from the restaurant was excellent and service was great. 4 EV chargers which allowed us to charge up before going home. Only couple of issues, I filled in online the “pre checkin” form to save time (hotels words not mine). But when I got to reception I had to complete it again. Iron in the room was all sticky too. Small issues, hotel was great”
