“We stayed for 1 night at this gem of a place! We arrived quite late but managed to get into the restaurant just before they finished serving. The food was outstanding! Not an extensive menu. “We stayed for an event at UEA and the location was perfect for this. Setting was beautiful in a small village with a river running through -great for an evening stroll. Our bedroom was very very close to the road which becomes a commuter cut through in the mornings. This did lead to some unwelcome traffic noise from around 530am. ”

Perhaps most widely known for its renowned zoo, the village of Banham is located along the B1113, 11 kilometres north of Diss, 19 kilometres east of Thetford and 32 kilometres south-west of Norwich. The tree-lined village green is surrounded by old thatched houses > 1408825 some with overhanging storeys, and dominated by St Mary's church > 1408886 which adjoins the green in the west. Industries in Banham include the Gaymer Cider factory and brick making from locally found clay. The village has a number of small shops, a Spar supermarket and a village shop > 1408855 and post office, two pubs, and a primary school which caters for about 120 pupils.
