“Excellent stay at Hideaway. The fanciest hotel in this area with a 2025 Michelin Key. Going to Tenorio volano national park was only a 2 min drive. The grounds of the hotel are spectacular. The hotel is nestled in the rainforest and has 2 private trails to rio celeste. We got a free upgrade to a rainforest view room. We also enjoyed a complimentary yoga class with an excellent yoga teacher and a complimentary night tour with a knowledgeable guide. The staff was very friendly. The only negative……

“Wonderful simple cabins that are reminiscent of Costa Rica of the past, with very kind helpful hosts. If you’re looking for a quiet clean escape into the cloud forest, this is the place. We were so happy to see all the hummingbirds while we enjoyed the excellent coffee and fresh fruit juice in the morning. The private trail was a moderate hike to a gorgeous waterfall and was a great taste of the beauty of the area without the crowds of Tenorio. Our 6 year-old loved seeing the red-eyed tree……

“Had a lovely weekend stay here. The view over Lake Arenal is unbelievable! Ana was a delight every morning and made wonderful breakfasts. Her sweet cats roaming around on the property was a huge plus for me. Great place to stay if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and undisturbed but still only 20 minutes from restaurants/conveniences. There are toucans in the trees next to the bungalow every morning.”

“The nicest people and wonderful hosts. I mentioned that we would be celebrating our daughter’s bday while we were there and they knocked on the door with a huge slice of chocolate cake and a candle and sang Feliz cumpleanos. It was the sweetest thing and so special for our family. It was such a kind gesture and it set the tone for the rest of our time there. Breakfast was a lovely production. We entered the dining room and they just started bringing out entree after entree, fruit, eggs, gallo……
