One of the most unique, welcoming places I have ever been to. The space was amazing, staff more than excellent and I spent most of my stay figuring out how to come back and stay again. If you’re looking for for a unique, reasonably priced place to stay in an interesting part of Chicago with lots of interesting people to talk to - this is your place.
The best part by far was the breakfast. Food was amazing, better than any restaurant, and they had options for dietary restrictions as well.
Cleanliness was average. The bathroom we had was dimly lit and the mattress had a noticeable sag to it. The place has a lot of amenities, parking for larger vehicles is street only.
Not great for booking last minute. The phone number is not answered, there’s no one on-site, and communication is via text and having to upload documents. Had to set this up once we arrived, and sat outside for a while before being able to get it. Booking ahead of time, I’m sure the experience is better.
There were also political activism signs hung up inside which I could do without while on vacation.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Rays is amazing, so cute and really felt like home. The food was exceptional, the staff was really friendly, and the rooms were cozy. We plan on coming back regularly. The walk from the train station, and the neighborhood around Ray's was really cute, with lots of great coffee, food and other options.
Great location, great breakfast and friendly staff

I enjoyed my night here and the deep soaking jetted tub was just what I needed to relax. Ashley was very kind as was the rest of the staff. I appreciated the secure on site parking which was included. My made to order omelette was delicious for breakfast.
We had the best stay at Rays and will definitely be back! Everything about this place is fantastic, its hard to know where to begin, but the care and love put into their B&B can be felt for real. And had an unbelievably comfy and restful sleep. Woke up feeling refreshed, and had the best made to order breakfast!
Really neat eclectic B&B in midtown Chicago. Very friendly and accessible staff, very clean, and quiet. Breakfast is usual fare but preparation and ingredients are excellent. I do wish they had breakfast potatoes as an option on their menu though. Bed is very comfy but room and BR are a little cramped.
Such a wonderful find - sweet staff, homey setting, beautiful neighborhood close to the 606 walking trail and train. On top of this the most amazing breakfasts we could ask for. A wonderful gem of a place to visit!
