“The Bridge Inn at Holmrook. Our room was really comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean and well maintained. The whole of the Bridge Inn is dog friendly and welcoming to our pair of 4paws. The breakfast was brilliant. There's a really good selection to choose from and everything was cooked to perfection. We ate at the Bridge Inn every night because the food was excellent. The last time we ate food that good was when we ate at James Martin's restaurant. The menu had just the right amount of dishes……

“Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. All staff were very friendly making for a relaxing stay. Evening meal was was also very nice ( I had the pie both nights, highly recommended) wine a bit on pricy side but I enjoyed it all the same!”

“The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits. The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. ”

“We stayed at Armathwaite Hall for one night and it was superb. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and little touches made our stay very memorable such as a glass of prosecco on arrival and a card and some chocolates in my room for my birthday. We stayed in a Club room which was very spacious. We ate in the dining room which was pricey but the food was exquisite so worth the money. We also made full use of the spa facilities which are just heavenly and very relaxing. I would thoroughly……
