“The staff was great. Spa was greasy dirty. Pool was dirty. Room was cold. Should have extra blankets”

“Cute little cottage overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed our stay from the moment we were greeted by the friendly and hospitable front desk agent. Our room was comfortable. A sliding glass door opened to a small patio with chairs and ocean view. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large with a huge, deep tub. There were eating utensils, had we wanted to enjoy a snack on the patio. There was also a spa area - also with ocean view. There was a Cafe across the highway which, until we ate most of them,……

“We booked a one-night experience for ourselves, our two sons and their respective wives at this highly rated facility as part of our vacation. We arrived early for our check-in, so one of three rooms was available which was fine. The rooms were large but had a musty smell when we entered. The bed was comfortable, but most of the amenities are dated. That said, this was meant to be a “lodge”, so our expectations may have been too high. “The price point doesn’t match the experience. They are located right next to the freeway next to a large retirement community. Most of the rooms look in on each other and feel packed in. There is not elevator and not bell hop. The “serenity pool” is surrounded by the fitness room and the cement block walls with rooms all around. The gathering space in the center is nice and the family pool at least has a hillside with an olive grove as long as you aren’t looking at the side where you see the……

“I have stayed at the Inn many times in the past. The town is a beautiful peaceful place. I love the environment. That said: check in was friendly but weird. My CC# was written out on a white board . Except for the cook in the breakfast room we never saw another staff person, including to check out. The breakfast was underwhelming. It was nothing like past visits. The rooms are a bit tired. It seems as if the owners are working to bring energy to the facility w/ weekend music and wine. ”
