River Cabin
The river cabin was a great getaway for my wife and I. It’s a cozy cabin in a very cool remote location to truly disconnect and enjoy your stay. They were very accommodating during our stay with check in times and promptly answered all of our questions as well as provided suggestions on cool places to boat and see. The house could have used a little more directions on a few minor things like using the stove first turn the propane on. The one overall improvement I would recommend general up keep of the house like changing out not working light bulbs, maintaining fire pit, dock board’s repair.

Beautiful cottage on the Santee River
What a beautiful property! Slightly secluded as you can only get there by boat. The cottage was perfect for me, my husband, and our pup Oreo. Private dock, perfect for fishing, swimming or just hanging out. Happened to be the weekend we lost Jimmy Buffet, so sweet place to remember him and our concerts. We played his music all weekend long. Thank you Dave for sharing your place with us. Can’t wait to come back!

SUCH a special place
This is an incredible spot. Dave was really warm and helpful--we did not have our own boat and so opted for him to take us to and from the island, and we had a wonderful time learning about the area from him in the process. The cabin has a very full kitchen with propane stove & oven that worked great, a water reservoir system, which Dave helped us with, and good AC. It's stunningly beautiful and we spent the whole weekend talking about how much we want to come back!!

Great adventurous getaway
We had a great time on this getaway. This house had much more room than we anticipated. Beautiful views , salt water fishing and fresh water fishing. This was the perfect location. Felt kinda like glamping with the water holding tank. The house had so many things already stocked If we had forgotten something I’m sure it would’ve been there. We will definitely go stay here again soon.

Riverside Getaway
All the men in the family took a long weekend getaway and this property did not disappoint. It started with me and my sons planning to do a little duck hunting and both my brothers, nephews and my dad ended up joining us. We had a great weekend. The property had plenty of room for us, with everything we needed right there. The owner was really accessible and extremely helpful. Highly recommend this for a getaway.

Paridise on the river
This is a familys get away retreat that people dream about. Some other cabins close by but mostly vacant. We had the island to ourselves. Its like having your own private Congaree Nat Park. Wild life galore, very little river traffic , none on week days. The home ,is a home. The challenges that you face to have all the modern comforts , on an island, on the river, with no vehicle access, have been addressed and conquered. Not an easy task. Vacation here while you can!

Relaxing and beautiful
My family and I had a nice relaxing get away. We saw dolphins and crocodiles. It rained ever day so not much fishing but I spent a lot of time with the girls playing board games and cards. The owners Dave and Lisa are available and easy to talk with. They sent a video of how to get to the cabin from the dock. They even left me some tide to wash my clothes out if needed. Will come back for sure.

Vacay on a River
Wonderful 7 days spent relaxing, exploring, fishing, cooking, laughing and unplugging from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Our family spent 7 great days at the Clayton Cabin…. We brought our boat and enjoyed exploring the River as well as the Georgetown Harbor one day for lunch! We had some rainy days but we still enjoyed ourselves and even caught huge fish from the dock those days. Our sons would fish from sun up to sun down and never complained of boredom. I would definitely recommend bringing boots for exploring around the property since it’s kind of swampy. We were greeted the first day by an alligator(who stayed in the water) and stayed close by the first 3 or 4 days… only chasing the corks in the water and basically just swimming around all the other time. So definitely no swimming in the River for us but that was expected. We had one little issue early on and the host was super helpful and responded quickly to help us remedy the problem! Kitchen is very well stocked and the grill outside is an added bonus Mosquitos were not as bad as one would think for a River front house in the dead of summer , we used bug spray and lit citronella and we enjoyed many evenings on the front porch rocking in the really comfy wooden rockers! Drink Coffee every morning and watch the sun rise right from the kitchen table! We watched Dolphins playing up and down the River!!! Really cool get away for a “off the grid” kind of retreat! I would recommend bringing a boat for sure if your planning to stay for multiple days! We were a little iffy about leaving our vehicles parked in an unattended lot for 7 days but not one issue at all! We had a really great vacay and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful cabin in a wonderful location!
We had a perfect getaway to the North Santee and plan to return to this location many more times! The cabin was very spacious well equipped, it was nice and cool on the hot July days inside! We enjoyed swimming off the dock boating to the ocean to our own private beach on Cedar Island and fishing McClellanville and further up the river! Wonderful combination of salt water and freshwater fishing! We saw dolphins from our dock and enjoyed all of the wildlife in the area! Great family time grilling on the front porch and enjoyed the fire pit! Dave was very helpful and always available for questions! We will be back!

Awesome place nice and peaceful my family wants to go again 🙂
Owner was very helpful and awesome I’ll definitely go again it’s calm my kids down looking at the wild nature along the river and awesome huge cat fishing. I was looking for a place to leave my boat in the water for a couple days to test out for leaks but best place to try your boat out. Next time I’ll go back I’ll test ride to the beach 8 miles from the house 👍

Secluded and Comfortable
This is a great property: you're isolated and you have (nearly) all the comforts of home. Spent two weeks at the cabin and saw nearly no other people (if you do encounter a neighbor, just know that they like seclusion as well). Accommodations allowed us to cook the food that we enjoy at home and be together in ease and comfort. The views and the quiet allow you to disconnect and just enjoy this part of SC. Cabin is more than spacious for a couple and could accommodate two families. Hot water and the AC make you feel spoiled in this setting. The hosts (Dave and Lisa) are very responsive and will make sure that you enjoy your stay. The property is situated on the river, which allowed for great swimming and boating, and the swamp behind was fun to explore. Property is more than large enough for large family outings. Sandbars up and down the river to park your boat on and just enjoy the river (warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot); great fishing off the dock. Just remember that you're in the SC lowcountry: bring the bug spray and watch out for alligators.

Perfect Quarantine Vacation
The Cabin was beautiful and perfectly rustic and isolated! Georgetown is an 1.5 hour boat ride away and in about 45 minutes you can get to a very isolated beach! Up and down the Santee River, you will see dolphins and alligators! The beds are not king, but queen. Also the coffee maker is a Keurig so make sure to bring pods! The only complaint is that there is a screened porch without a door. Being located in the woods means bugs. Without a door, mosquitoes made the porch unusable. Overall, the Cabin is comfortable and perfect for a remote, socially distanced vacation!
