Front Desk girls were always greeting us with big smiles and plans for the day and Zee made us feel like family. But honestly all the staff was great. “Nice building. Good security and indoor parking. Nice area. Dog friendly. Some things were disappointing. There are two outdoor pools and a hot tub. Of these three amenities, only one of the pools was functional during our time there. The other pool and the hot tub were empty and the area around them was fenced off. The one working pool for a large building was always very busy. The advertising is also misleading in that the beach is about a kilometer (half mile) away. ”

![I was fortunate to be invited to spend some time at the Mar-A-Lago ("mahr-ah-lahgo") Club.

 Built in  1924-1927 by Marjorie Merriweather Post and designed by Joseph Urban. When she died in 1973 she willed the 17-acre estate to the U.S. Government as a retreat for Presidents and visiting foreign dignitaries. 

The Mar-A- Lago  Club is currently a  private club owned by Donald Trump. Trump paid $ 10 million for the estate in 1985. After acquiring the property in 1985, Trump had the property extensively renovated, with 58 bedrooms, 33 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces ( because it gets so cold in Florida ), and three bomb shelters,, because....?.  The  estate also has five clay and one grass tennis court with a waterfront pool  and a  20,000-square-foot ballroom. The name Mar-A-Lago is Spanish for "Sea to Lake".
