Walk in bathroom/ shower was without a window and limited mechanical extraction - so had a v damp smell - a design fault - but had to keep that door closed. But the……

“For our first visit to Madeira and in particular Funchal this compact apartment was in a perfect location, close to markets, shops, restaurants and transportation. The apartment was clean and well equipped. Our only observations (not complaints) were that whilst the bed was comfortable the pillows provided (2) were very soft and offered no support; there was only one mirror in the apartment (in the bathroom) a second in the bedroom area would have been useful and the only place to store/hang……

“The room itself was nice and had a great see view. The hotel is advertised as two connected properties with spa amenities but in reality they are pretty disjointed and quite a bit of walk from each other. The spa reservation system is not great because there is no online way to reserve a massage and one needs to go to a remote reception spot to reserve it between 10 am and 7 pm (which is prime time NOT to be at the hotel). So we ended up skipping it because of that and also the prices were……

“Excellent all inclusive hotel, clean, beautiful and walkable area with great boardwalks. Great selection of food for everyone, very clean and well design dining area. very good service. ”

“Near airport , few shop and restaurant. lobby have free wifi and if you reg the member,you can get the free a bottle of madeira wine,a bottle of water and fruit.No air-con and fan in room ,but we feel cold as the wind.Beautiful view .You can take bus to Funchal,around 15min and cost around 2Euro/way”

“What a lovely location although there are multiple suites and rooms, from the majority of vistas they are all nestled within the land and discrete. There were issues with the room but we were kindly offered alternatives. Breakfast was included and you couldn't eat enough. The grounds were impressively level given the graduated levels of Maderia's landscape.”

“The hotel natural estate was beautiful, the grounds were in there own gardens , the staff very friendly , everything so clean and helpful. Everything was exceptional. The restaurant was very interesting and good , breakfast was so delightful with all the fruits and choices to eat. It is a 5 star excellent hospitality. The outside pool was lovely as well as indoor spa. Not hot but refreshing. ”

“Large clean room, short on electrical outlets but given an extension cord with multiple outlets at front desk which served the purpose. Comfortable beds. View of mountain towards airport and ocean, could hear the planes take off but didn’t impact our sleep much. Great daily room cleaning with friendly staff. Nice large breakfast buffet with basic selections which should cover varying food preferences. Good location, beach, water sports, restaurants and bars, bus stop close by, trails, etc..……
