"This was my second visit to this accommodation and it was just as good as the first. The chalet has everything you could need for a self-catering facility. Clean, with also plenty of good quality towels. There is also plenty of parking space. As this was a summer stay, there were plenty of families with children and dogs. There are no facilities for children to play on so you do need to entertain them. Even with small children and dogs, the chalet park was very quiet and everyone very friendly....

"Second time visiting this hotel after a gap of 5 years. I really wanted to give it 5 stars as it’s in a beautiful location and the main hotel is really very lovely. Particularly liked the drawing rooms downstairs for relaxing with a good book and the lovely gardens for afternoon tea and more. Steeped in history, I enjoyed reading about times gone by. Food was of a high standard across the board. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss with staff becoming overwhelmed quite quickly. However, having visited this hotel previously I was disappointed in the Spa. The facilities would benefit from a deep clean and some maintenance. As the spa is quite small and shared by hotel guests, day guests and members of the spa/gym membership, it can get very busy and crowded I found the towel on the hook situation a bit tedious, especially as a hotel paying guest. One day I went for a quick swim but left ntvggg bun"

"Lovely stay, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was kept nice and hot. We had Room 328 which was very bright and airy with panoramic views, the station, cricket ground and a corner view of the sea. The shower over the bath proved to be tricky in getting the right temperature without being scolded or it turning freezing cold, hence this took about 10/15 mins each day! Bed should be replaced, has probably seen better days as it was very squishy and bouncy, however, this did not ruin our stay. Both of the pools were very good as were the new changing rooms. Staff in the Compass Bar were very helpful and worked well in their roles, especially Ahmed who was always smiling, polite and helpful. Check-in staff were always professional and helpful."
