Things to do in Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen

Not far from Penticton’s city center is Okanagan Beach with an attractive sandy shoreline on Okanagan Lake. Enjoy your time on this beach. It has been voted number two among a group of best beaches in Canada.

In the town of Oliver in the South Okanagan region of British Columbia, the Burrowing Owl Estate Winery showcases some of the finest wines of the province. Penticton’s Skaha Beach offers a beautiful red sand beach in a park setting located in the south end of the city. Wade or swim in the warm shallow waters of Skaha Lake and hike through the 21 acres (8.5 hectares) of Skaha Lake Park. The beach does not have lifeguards, but the swimming area is well defined with buoys and signs.

In British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, visit Skaha Lake for awesome beaches and some of the warmest water temperatures in Canada. At the north end of the lake is the city of Penticton on the southern end of Okanagan Lake.
