"Katerina and her staff are accommodating and gracious. She is an exceptional hostess with impressive attention to detail and cleanliness as well as our requests. She was able to coordinate a rental vehicle that simplified our transportation needs and her generosity and friendliness was welcoming at all times! This villa was all we hoped and more with the grand mountainous setting in the small village overlooking Souda Bay. The house was well stocked and allowed us to create great memories such as cooking delicious meals shared with family and friends. If traveling during unpredictable springtime weather, the villa’s luxuries of a pool and hot tub are thoroughly appreciated. Can't wait to return!"

"There is something magical about relaxing by the pool while looking at the snow on the mountain peaks and then turning and seeing the Aegean in the distance. The hosts were wonderful and made us feel welcome without being obtrusive. The quiet at night was a peaceful respite after our time in Athens. We hope to return as the fates allow."

"We would not recommend this house at all. It’s actually two separate areas and not connected. When we first arrived we went into front apartment and discovered where was no AC in living area /kitchen and was so hot at 9pm when we arrived we could not sit in there. There were no instructions at house, so we wrote the owner on how to turn on the jacuzzi outside but that was when he told us it didn’t heat. So we decided to go to bed, but when we went to go in the back area where our bedroom was there was a noxious smell that was so strong it was overwhelming we could not stay in there. so we ended up in a very tiny room with twin bed in the front. There was another bedroom where my brother and sister in law were going to sleep, but the light in bathroom didn’t work so we tried to fix that, with no luck. By the time we got ready for bed, we decided we had to leave since one whole area was unusable due to smell. I called Vrbo around 12am to let them know what was going on. Since it was late, we wrote to owner first thing in morning. He said there was no smell and we explained there was indeed a very strong gaseous/noxious smell that was so bad we couldn’t use back apartment. The owner accused us of lying about the smell instead of going to house to see for himself. We drove a long way to get to house that is not near anything, and then had to spend a half a day looking for a place to stay after. We only had 3 days in chania & wasted a day. Do not book this house."

"Well, the positives are always first. The villa was just as pictured in Vrbo. It was nestled in the hills and was very private and secluded. The 4 bedrooms/baths were separated into 2 identical halves on each side of villa which is nice to have privacy between guests/children. The pool was private and always clean. The scenic property was perfect with a covered porch and ample private, grassy area to catch the sun. So a few recommendations for the next guests includes the following: 1-a reliable internet connection. It was weak, spotty and often completely inoperable; 2-softer mattresses; 3-if you are preparing meals, a few more kitchen amenities would be nice; 4-shower had no shower curtain so keeping bath floor dry was problematic; 5-only 2 rolls of toilet paper were supplied for 6 people for 5 days. The owner said toilet paper is not considered basic and should be supplied by guests. Luckily, a caretaker supplied us with a few more rolls; 6-slightly difficult to find a night. I would put the hotel/restaurant's address across the street for GPS. BTW The owners of the hotel/restaurant across the street was family owned. They treated us like part of the family too. They gave us access to their pool, restaurant, bar, etc and gave us assistance in time of need! Overall, I would recommend the Villa to family and friends."

"Our family of 5 had a great stay at Samantha’s place on the mountainside. The home was spacious, clean, and matched the description well. Samantha was a responsive and thoughtful host. The home is in a remote location about 10-15 min drive up the mountain, so this is perfect if you want something off the beaten track! Thank you, Samantha!"
