"Welcoming "
Being greeted at the door and the front desk after a long day of travel was so nice. The room smelled fresh and was very clean. Very roomy, especial the spacious bathroom. The location was near China town, north beach, union square, easy access to many restaurants, all within walking distance. Overall a great stay.

"Funky Cool Place"
I loved this hotel! It's old and quirky, and that's the reason I liked it. If you expect a Ritz-Carlton type of experience, move along. This place isn't for you. I have a few "must haves" for hotels. I want a clean room. Clean, as in no bugs and it needs to be spotless. I don't want to feel like I have to wipe everything down with chlorox wipes. My room was spotless. Very clean. The 5 story hotel is old, so expect small rooms. A bed, small desk, fridge, sink (yes, the sink is located next to the bed not in the bathroom), closet and flat screen tv make up the living space. There's not a ton of room to move around, but it's comfortable. The bathroom had a claw foot tub and toilet. We had a view into a non-accessible courtyard thing. It has a fabulous mural type painting. The windows open about 8 inches. There is no air conditioning. With the windows open, you will hear the sounds of the city during the night. It doesn't matter what room you're in. You will hear sirens and garbage trucks. You're in the city at a boutique hotel. Get over it. The lobby is on the 2nd floor. The stairway is very narrow, steep and creaky. There is a cool old scissor gate elevator. We were told it's one of the few working scissor gate elevators in the city. I found it charming. I'm glad they kept it. The hotel is in the financial district. You can catch any type of transportation to take you anywhere in the city. Very easy to get around. The location is excellent!

"Great location, friendly staff, clean room"
Grant Plaza Hotel is located very close to union square and public transit. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was very tidy and clean. Love their bathroom. We arrived at 10ish in the morning and thought that we need to leave our baggage with the front desk. It turned out that we were able to check-in upon our arrival because our room was ready for us already! Great experience at Grant Plaza Hotel. Will stay there in the future.

A second visit within a week didn't change my original view that you get what you pay for, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. With the benefit of hindsight we would stay there again.

"Close to everything and I do mean Everything!"
I was here on business for a week. The Hotel is situated 4 blocks from the trans america building and at the edge of Chinatown. The other side of the street is little italy. The hotel is quiet and is well taken care of. The beds are a little hard. The only downside is that one block away is the heart of the strip clubs/ gentlemen s clubs. If you are into that then it won't bother you. You can walk different paths to avoid it. Fisherman's Wharf is a 20 min walk thru little italy. Lots of good restaurants around.

"Parking onsite"
Myself and my partner spent a 3 day weekend at the Royal Pacific. Not the best part of town but it suited us to be close to the Saloon on Grant. Nice enough hotel but the main selling point is the onsite parking. A real bonus in San Francisco. Would certainly stay here again.
