Gainesville, Florida Hotel Rooms at the Independent

Outstanding, Happy Hour wasn't expected, Breakfast was very very good, If we are in the area again, we will stay here.

This is a beautiful location with well appointed rooms in lovely older houses. I will return.

We stayed at this hotel while our daughter visited the college campus. Staff was very friendly. Hotel was beautiful.

I enjoyed my stay at the Waldo Inn and Suites. My late check in was honored, the hotel is of high standards compared to the surrounding hotels. I found my room to be of high standards and of modern style as well.

We were a little disappointed in the breakfast buffet as they ran out of coffee! Other than that, room was clean, plenty of towels, heat and AC ran well and was quiet, and most of the personnel were friendly and helpful. Also there were places to eat within walking distance.

Too expensive for this somewhat clean room with an outside door that stuck and bathroom door that didn't lock. We just came to town for the Gator game so it served it's purpose.

I was staying here for a couple nights while moving out of my apt in Gainesville which is close by. If they renovate the property, get rid of all the nasty musty carpeting, some flat screen TVs and high-speed internet, they can raise the prices a lot. GNV in general does not have good hotels, so even less to be expected from a motel. The internet was very slow and iffy, so I ended up going to the UF library. Having stayed at the Hilton UF Conference center for a much higher rate and basically getting similar service in a far flung location, I can say this: save your money and stay at this cheap dingy motel in a much better location in downtown GNV. Spend the money you saved to go to a nice restaurant, drink at a bar close by and walk back to Gainesville lodge.
