great week-long stayPosted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Food, drinks, entertainment
Cons: Rooms can be updated
Location: We did not leave the resort area too much since it was all-inclusive but there was not a shortage of options that could be done if we wanted to.
Room - did have a bit of a musty smell that wasn't bothersome, but it did come back on all our clothes. Bar was great to have but didn't really need it too much. Maid service was good. Food - excellent food quality and choices. Although breakfast and lunch got a bit repetitive every day, there was enough choices to mix it up. Plenty of excellent options for dinner, and the Japanese was our favorite. Staff - very helpful whenever we needed anything or had questions. Pool - spent most of our time here. The pool was very busy every day so we had to "reserve" our chairs each morning. There is plenty of space at the pool and beach, but if you want a good spot in the sun for the pool, I would recommend getting up early. Beach - beautiful with plenty of room. There was a lot of seaweed build up and the ocean was too rough to swim, but it was nice to walk up and down. Other Services team - probably the highlight of our trip was the entertainment group stationed at the pool and nightly entertainment. Some of the evening's shows were better than others. Best Day travel was great to use for private car service.

Beautiful hotel and VERY clean which I appreciatedPosted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, beautiful inside and out, great selection of food, wonderful/friendly employees, great area, great pool!!!
Cons: Housekeeping would never give us enough towels. I tipped him, then got plenty of towels, but the next day, I only received 2 towels, no washcloths.
Location: There is a great little outdoor mall about a 10 minute walk from the hotel that had wonderful little Mexican art and items to purchase. Biking, kayaks
Went over spring break and this hotel was excellent with keeping the younger crowd busy with functions around the pool and I was able to enjoy my time near the ocean. It seems that this hotel is more geared to an over 25 or so crowd which I was also very happy about and not a lot of craziness going on even though we were there at the heart of spring break. They have a huge variety of food at the buffet, so even a picky eater like myself was able to find something to eat at every meal. The service at the buffet can not be matched, everyone is so pleasant and welcoming we didn't even want to go to the other restaurants in the hotel to eat. Our favorite waiter was Gierellmo, who was always so accomodating to my daughter and myself and on the last night of our stay, set a special table just for the two of us complete with a red tablecloth, sparkly spring confetti, fancy napkins and champagne. We loved sitting in his section and I would recommend you ask for his section when going to the buffet and you will always get excellent service and he is a character as well! The rooms were very clean and very nicely done. Every inch of the hotel is spotless, just the way I like things. 99% Of the staff was very friendly and always very helpful. I would and have recommended this hotel to all of my friends and would not hesitate to go back. And, even though it is an all-inclusive, I still believe that you should tip for great service which I noticed a lot of people weren't doing.

Almost perfect all inclusive resortPosted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: We liked palm trees on the beach. You can truly relax watching ocean in a shadow of the palm trees.
Cons: There were no side tables near beach chairs. Where you supposed to put your drink? In a sand? Children's playground room is in a very bad condition.
The resort has very friendly hotel staff. You can truly relax and enjoy your stay. Note they don't have ocean view rooms. The food was good, but not great. Buffet included following sections:Italian cuisine section (pizza and pasta), mexican section, american section, salad bar, cold cuts and cheese, various deserts. There were Japanese section (sushi), but not every day. In general there were not enough seafood choices. The hotel has perfect location. You can walk to Playa Del Carmen city. There is pretty good onsite entertainment.

This resort was awesome! The attentiveness of the staff was amazing! The food was great. The sun was great! The rooms were good too- a little less comfortable than I first expected, but nothing that this resort didn't make up for. I am going back for sure.

Pros: Everything. Would come back
My husband and I came with our daughter/husband/one year old and daughter's husbands' parents. The one year old was the hit of the pool. Everyone was so friendly and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. Sumaey, our server at the pool, was awesome! It is such a big place yet not too big that everyone just kind of did what they wanted and we always knew that we would find each other some place on the property. The buffet was fabulous. We preferred the buffet over most of the restaurants just because of the flexibility the buffet offers. The lobby bar was where the best drinks were. Considering coming back next year with more family.

Nice hotel on the beachPosted Feb 12, 2015
Nice amenities and all inclusive food and drinks were great. Nice hotel overall with great pool and right on the beach. Lots of activities for adults and kids. The only issues i had were that room smelled like mildew and hallways are very noisy every morning when people are leaving to catch early morning flights. For the price rooms could have been better over all as far as smell and stains on sheets/towels.

Old-world style, modern conveniencesPosted Feb 7, 2015
Pros: We liked the proximity to the beach, the old/new world charm, the buffet and the service.
Cons: The only thing that could be improved would be to have softer/better thread count sheets; they were a little stiff.
Location: There is lots to do in the area. We went on a tour (which we booked at the hotel) to Tulum and Coba. We also visited Playa Del Carmen, the town.
We loved this place. Close to the beach, the best all-inclusive buffet we have ever experienced. Plus, there was a bar in our room complete with a stocked refrigerator. We would definitely stay here again. Great service too!

Another Outstanding Day In "Paradise"Posted Feb 7, 2015
Pros: Everything, what is not to like.
Cons: Bedding a little more comfortable and more English channels on the TV, eventhough the TV isn't used much.
Location: Great location about 45 miles south of Cancun, in a private, gated area of Playa del Carmen, surrounded by many other resorts, all affiliated with RIU
Pulling up to the hotel is pulling up to a palace. One of the best resorts in Mexico, especially on the Yucatan Peninsula. Fantastic food, refreshments, pools and one of the most beautiful places ever. Service is way above excellent. Beds are a little hard and TV is mostly in Spanish, but everything else is wonderful. There are shows every evening as well as a different cuisine theory. During the day, many pool and beach activities and grilling in the sand. Our third time and never disappointed. A must for your bucket list... again and again...
