"Santa Fe gem"
Vanessie is a small hotel. 18 rooms run like a B and B. The most accommodating staff I have found in a hotel in a while. The room was on the smallish side but the sun room and private patio made for a very nice space. The restaurant is not to be missed!

"Beautiful Hotel"
This hotel is really charming and the staff was very accommodating. The only little complaint we had was that fireplace smoke from a nearby chimney made spending any time on our balcony impossible. Otherwise we were really happy with our stay.

"Great hotel in Santa Fe"
The El Dorado was a beautiful southwestern hotel. It was right in the Old Town area of Santa Fe which made it easy to walk to see the sights and go shopping. There was valet parking ($25 per day) at the hotel.

"Close to Plaza"
The best part of our stay was being able to walk to the Plaza. We experienced ants in our casita, the dryer vent plugged with lint (afraid to use), another guest jumped the curb and parked their large pick-up blocking our 1 parking space and became very angry when asked to move it. Otherwise everything else went well. You never see any staff, only speak to them by phone. They are not on site.

The hotel was culturally relevant and architecturally magnificent. The room was clean and cozy and the staff was wonderful. The location was ideal for walking the city and exploring Santa Fe. I would highly recommend it and I know where staying next time I go to that beautiful city!

"Best resort by far."
My daughter and I stayed in 3 resorts during our visit. Anasazi and La Posada. We wanted to compare architecture and room decor. We saved the best for last. We loved our stay in the Hacienda. The rooms are amazing. We loved the happy hour on the 6th floor. Our Butlers, Lubo and Richard were so nice and helpful. We honestly felt like VIPs on a budget there. It is dog friendly too. They will walk your pets!!! The gym is small but adequate. We did not enjoy our spa treatments. That was a financial disappointment to say the least. I could have bought a nice custom Pendleton jacket in town and had something to show for my money.

Many of the hotels in Santa Fe are conveniently located in downtown or Cerrillos Road. While these two hotel hot spots are within easy access of each other, they differ in their ambience and appeal. Downtown has a historical vibe with an old Western environment, while Cerrillos Road is a much more modern area with an urban feel. Regardless of where you book one of the Santa Fe hotels, you’ll find a variety of lodging options, from budget-friendly motels to splurge-worthy accommodations.

One of the best ways of getting around is to reserve a Santa Fe rental car in advance. With the exception of downtown, which is walkable, there are a number of roads that run through the city and are easy to navigate. Many of the streets do have sharp turns, so take care when cruising along these roads.

The city also provides the North Central Regional Transit District, which is a free bus service that runs Monday through Friday. The routes service communities in Santa Fe, along with Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and Taos. The Santa Fe Trails also offers bus service to the area, with routes to Crosstown, Cerrillos Road, Agua Fria, and Rodeo Road, among others.

    Travel Basics

Realize that Santa Fe is a high-altitude destination, which can contribute to a number of health-related problems if travelers are ill prepared to handle it. Focus on staying hydrated, pack plenty of sunscreen, and be especially vigilant if you’re hiking to even higher altitudes. Some visitors may feel experience headaches, or feel nauseated and especially tired when acclimating.

For vacationers who plan to get behind the wheel during their Santa Fe travels, take caution. Drivers in this area are notorious for running red lights, so remain extra focused around intersections. For whatever reason, items failing off of trailers and pick-up trucks are another common occurrence. Remain alert while driving on these roads and maintain a safe distance behind other vehicles.

Santa Fe presents four distinct seasons each year. The winters usually experience temperatures around 40 F with the chance of snowfall. When spring rolls in, the climate is dry and offers arguably some of the best temperatures all year round. Come summer, the heat spikes around 90 F, but afternoon thunderstorms help to cool it down during July and August. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and crisp evenings before the winter chill sets in.

Santa Fe is a scenic destination, located at the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, where anytime is a good time to visit. Allow us here at to match you up with cheap flights to Santa Fe, along with car rentals and hotel rooms to suit all your travel preferences.
