Friendly staff and Hotel across from the Park

Posted Aug 1, 2015
We arrived very early around 7am and they were cleaning our room and we were able to check in right away! We thought we would not be able to but they made it happen. We were provided w/ tea for our wait (not long) and we settled in. We came for Fiestas Patrias. The hotel is in close proximity to the center (about 6 blocks) and in a very beautiful and quiet area. I am a runner so I appreciated the park in front of us (morning runs). The room was comfy (3 beds). I would recommend new pillows and they only give you 1 big towel and 1 small towel, however when I asked for another big towel, they happily abliged. Continental breakfast is served (delicious bread and fruit spread) along with fresh juice and infusions but no other food is served. Great experience over all. This is my first time staying in a hostal and it was great. Thank you!

Don't go here

Posted Nov 20, 2010
Unless every other place is full, don't go here. The drain in the bathroom didn't work - you think you are taking a shower, but it quickly turns into a bath. The decor is kind of depressing. At breakfast, they gave us nothing but dry eggs, cheap rolls, and fake butter. There was a basket of plastic fruit, but no real fruit. Instant coffee only, and no coca leaves for tea. We stayed here 1 night and immediately moved to a different hotel. Well worth it - the new hotel cost only a few bucks more more, had working drains, great breakfast, and was only 3 blocks from the main square. You can easily do better than this place.

A wonderful place to stay

This family-run hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the Plaza de Armas and all its restaurants and services, and yet is set in a quiet cul-de-sac surrounding a beautiful park. None of the noise that accompanies most of Latin America's cities larger than 1 million inhabitants plague this wonderful spot. Very clean, safe, and considerately run to boot.
