Coach House-A Unique Getaway Tucked in the Trees

Welcome to the Coach House! Relocated from the nearby Dorrington Hotel, this sweet cabin was constructed from the original timbers directly from the 1800s stagecoach barn. This cabin has been lovingly renovated into a romantic hideaway and is located in the darling town of Dorrington, within walking distance to The Lube Room and Dorrington Hotel.

The main bedroom has a queen bed and the additional sleeping area has a full bed. The wall furnace heater and wood-burning stove give warmth all winter long. As a studio cabin, the cozy living area is set off of the kitchen/dining space. The front deck offers additional outdoor living space with a patio bistro set for your enjoyment ~ A perfect place to stay for your summer getaway.

The Coach House is the perfect retreat for relaxation or to fulfill all your outdoor adventure desires.

Property lives up to rustic claim, some minor improvements would be 1) correct address on instructions 2) repairing door latch to alliw licking of front door and 3) coffee filters.

Quiet, cozy, and cabinesque✨
This is not a pristine resort-style stay, and yet that is exactly what makes this rental a charming and comfortable property. Grievances are small and easy to overlook when reflecting on the overall offerings. Sure, the front door is a little cumbersome to manage, but it’s gorgeous and a bit fun to maneuver. The rustic details of reclaimed wood, antique appliances and furniture, and walls of windows bring the outdoors in, creating a peaceful cabin culture retreat. The walk in shower area in itself was an oasis after trekking through trails and the lake all day. Though we enjoyed a quiet weekend with the pup, we could see sharing the space with two more close friends or family when returning to the area. Thank you to to the property manager for quick response, even though we had no service when arriving, and had to get on wifi to alert them of our check-in. This might be a better process for future guests, by providing the wifi prior to check in, as I didn’t have phone service at all during my time on the property. Otherwise a fantastic little find in a fantastic little nook in the woods.

Great log cabin look & feel
I loved the log cabin aesthetic of the rental! Place was very charming and waking up to a few of the forest through the large series of windows was awesome. I noticed some comments about cleanliness but there was nothing I would not expect from a cabin in the forest (tree sap/webbing). Overall a great experience and I would definitely consider renting again when returning to the area.

Cute Cabin
We spent two nights at this cute cabin during the Summer (mid-June). The weather was nice. We didn't need the fan or A/C on during the day or the heater on during the night. The cabin is really cute. The only downside was the cleanliness but we understand nothing is perfect. Overall, we had a wonderful and enjoyable stay. We want to thank management for everything!

NEEDS UPDATING
I am a real estate agent and interior designer, my boyfriend is a general contractor. We loved the charm : ) But the practical aspects need attention. House needs TLC. I hope this feedback is helpful: 1. The front door needs to be able to be easily and securely locked from the inside. There was a pin that was difficult and not very effective. 2. KITCHEN: - Refrigerator is old and needs to be replaced. It smells bad, and over freezes everything. - Ice Trays would be very nice to have for your guests. - Wine glasses would have been wonderful to have in the house with a wine opener. There was one white wine glass - that’s it. I would think a lot of your guests would be going into Murphy’s and enjoying wine. - New matching dishware would be nice. Old and stained and mismatched are not appealing to your guests. The pans are rusty and dirty and the only mixing bowl had a broken handle. Really awful. Not appetizing to cook with. - Canned light above sink is ancient and has wrong bulb. 3. House needs a deep cleaning. We found cobwebs to the left of the master bed and in the shower area. 4. The bathroom pocket door that opens into the laundry room/utility room is stuck shut. When you walk into the bathroom it smells of propane, strong laundry detergent and sewer. Not a great combination. 5. Master bedroom fan is really noisy on the high setting - and it wobbles. Should be replaced. Only 3 of 4 bulbs installed. Fan is unusable due to noise and shaking. 6. Closet doors don’t move properly or fall off their track if you try and open them. The small dresser inside the closet has drawers that won’t open. New dresser would be nice. 7. I think a new set of crisp cotton sheets with a updated comforter would really be nice in the master bedroom. At target you can get an entire set including some nicer pillows for a few hundred dollars. 8. The living room is large enough to accommodate a small sectional or at least a sofa with an ottoman. The very small and uncomfortable loveseat does not allow a place to even relax in the house and watch a movie. 9. The television is crooked and we tried to straighten it but the stand was too wobbly. Plus it would be great to have at least one streaming channel such as Netflix so that we could sign in and watch movies. I don’t think this is a difficult thing to set up on the TV? Most Channels require a subscription which was not available. Thank you!

Basecamp to explore nearby trails by bike and on foot
This cabin is lovely and unique, gives guests a sense of the local community spirit and flavor while offering the feel of a secluded respite amongst the trees. We enjoyed staying here. One comment re: communication is that we would have appreciated knowing in advance that shower soap and shampoo aren't provided as we would have brought some (we ended up picking up some in town).
