The Hotel embodied everything that is needed in a good stay. Friendly and accommodating staff, newly renovated property, clean and modern. The hotel rooms are swanky and make you feel like you're stepping back in time when you stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the toiletries by aveda were an excellent touch. Was able to get a late check out the day of for only 20.00 per extra hour which was worth every penny. Only knock is the Valet charge of 59 per night. I proceed to get out of my car and walk up to the stand to understand the process. After they looked confused, one valet attendant finally came up to me and explains the basic process. It was the strangest valet experience I've encountered. No one helps us with our bags. As we're struggling to walk through the door with our bags, not one of the 3 people standing there opens the door. Finally, someone walks up and holds the door behind me as I struggle carry our luggage through the two double doors. As we get to the lobby to check in, the desk agent asks how they can help. I tell them I would like to check in and he has a bewildered look on his face as if I said something confusing. I ask is ok that I check in and he says yeah..sure... we're just really busy. I reply "well having a fully occupied hotel is a good thing, right?" He then tells me that as a Bonvoy member I have credits for room service, in-room snacks, and in-room bar. We get to our room and there are no snacks, one bottle of water, andnothing in the fridge. The automated concierge was worthless & frustrating. We arrived around midnight and valet service was not available, so we had to park around the corner. At check-in, we were issued a key to Room 829, only to find it was already occupied…an uncomfortable and surprising situation. When we returned to the front desk, the desk agent seemed inconvenienced rather than apologetic. We later requested a one-hour late checkout and were told it would cost $25, which felt inflexible given the earlier issues. After checkout, we used our destination credit for brunch. We were not greeted or directed and had to ask whether we should seat ourselves or wait. We were eventually directed to the bartender with the red neck tattoo. The coffee was room temperature and served without a carafe. While the food was delicious and our server was great, the bartender could improve in attentiveness and hospitality. The overnight auditor and bartender both came across as aloof. As someone who has worked in a leadership role in the hospitality industry for over a decade, I was disappointed by how uncomfortable and undervalued we were made to feel. That said, the room and facilities were very nice.
