Kulu bay - a great escapePosted May 2, 2013
Pros: The people were very warm and welcoming. We came as guests and left as friends.
Cons: Lots of mosquitos which were very persistent in the face of insect repellent.
Location: Nicely isolated. Boat transfers only at certain times of day so work this out before you book your flights or you'll end up in Nadi overnight.
Situated on the south side of Beqa (Ben-ga) Island, which is a relatively large beautifully verdant island south of Pacific Harbour, Kulu bay has spacious rooms, great food and very friendly staff from the island's villages. Great house reef and access to boat diving, including renowned shark dive near Pacific Harbour. Other available activities include traditional Fijian feast, Kava ceremonies, village visit, sandbar picnic and snorkeling, kayaking, in-room massage, and fire-walking. With only 7 rooms it's peaceful and we were the only guests there for some of our stay. No internet, no phones - a perfect getaway destination.

A true escapePosted Jul 19, 2007
This place was an incredible getaway for our honeymoon! We loved the amount of space we had in our bure, the people who work there are extremely friendly and kind, and we loved being able to walk right into the water, put on our snorkel gear and spend hours on the reef right off the shore. We made many friends there, and yet had more than enough time to ourselves. Our only complaints would be the occasional loss of electricity at night and that although they will try to accommodate you as much as possible, there is little food selection beyond what they decide is being served that day. Overall though, we loved this resort and all it had to offer. We would go back and bring friends - without hesitation!
