Now here is an oceanside cottage you can totally enjoy. Located on quiet North Tower Circle Drive, Elusive Drum has easy access to an uncrowded beach. The ground level has ample parking with a concrete drive and an under-house pad and a convenient under-house entry where you will find the large outdoor shower. The first level has three spacious bedrooms, a large bath, outside decking, and a hammock. The second level with a bath has fragrant juniper wood accents, a fourth spacious bedroom, and a great room with a cathedral ceiling and a full glass-prow front design that catches great views and keeps the interior bright and cheery. The kitchen with a breakfast bar and the spacious dining area are both designed and equipped for all entertaining tasks. A screened-in porch off the dining area is a welcoming evening dinner destination. Elusive Drum fishermen will like the proximity to the Cape Point location. This home is close to beautiful Buxton beach and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse for a perfect vacation, with ocean views from the upper deck.

Things to know:
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

Perfect relaxing week with the family
We had a wonderful week! The house layout was great, plenty of space. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and utensils for every need. I never had trouble finding what I needed and cooked all week! The walk to the beach was short and easy. The beach area was perfect - we used it every day. It was never crowded, and great for swimming - shallow, but some days with impressive waves. There was no reason to explore the area, because we had all we needed.

Good: 1) it's on Hatteras Island right near the National Seashore 2) kitchen is well-stocked 3) beds were comfy. Not Good: 1) beach at the end of this block is VERY NARROW. Water is up to the dunes at high tide. Nowhere to sit. Not exaggerating. Quarter mile walk to the South is wider beach within National Park. 2) deck furniture is beyond salvation, with visible shards and splinters 3) Hatteras Realty kinda sucks... never responded to any emails; they sent messages discouraging phone calls, and I had long, long wait when I did have to call once. Overall: meh. You can do a lot better in the immediate locale, but if you know what it is and the price point seems fair, then go for it.

Perfect beach getaway!
Loved staying at the Elusive Drum with a group of friends. Plenty of room and loved the two decks. It was equipped with all of the cooking supplies we needed and was just a short walk to the beach. Would highly recommend for families or group of friends.

Wow!
This house was simply amazing! Not only is it just a short walk to the beach, but the house itself was great! The photos almost didn't do the house justice. When my family walked in we were blown away with how quaint this house was. We absolutely loved the outdoor shower/rinse area, the almost never ending kitchen utensils and supplies, the abundance of books and board games had we not brought enough, and the hammock (which was my personal favorite part of the house). If our paths ever cross with Buxton again, we will definitely check out The Elusive Drum FIRST!
