The most disappointing expedia booking I have made

Pros: Only the easy access to restaurants
Cons: More staff, Cleaner rooms, the lounge felt dirty. Studio rooms could have better furniture. Nothing on the walls, except one painting above the bed
Location: Restaurants and sea sightseeing.
Firstly one staff on front counter with 6 people trying to book in..... I was very surprised, walking into the tiny room which was very deceiving on the web. My bed was queen instead of king, my friends who I booked in as well, did have a king bed but were shocked as well at the size of the room and cheapness of the furniture, and the terrible view. After complaining we were moved into a much better room. My friends were moved the next day but into a disable room with no bathroom vanity, just handrails around the toilet. I didn't take cotton buds as what 41/2* doesn't have cotton buds??? I showed the staff the mould in the bathroom that should not have been there and could have been easily removed. My hair dryer attachments were broken. I cannot believe this is rated as 41/2*. One of the bedside lights wobbled badly when touched.....overall I would rate this hotel as 31/2*. Absolutely no ambience at all.

Disappointing hotel. Not worth the money paid.

Hello, We stayed at the Harbourlights hotel in the first week of the school holidays. We really enjoyed Cairns itself and the location of Harbourlights. However, we were disappointed with the staff, room and room cleaning at Harbourlights. The first thing I noticed was the blinds. They are not attached to the wall. Last year our friends were affected by an accident with a blind cord that resulted in tragedy. Please consider attaching the cords to the walls. The next thing I noticed was the stained furniture and carpet. I would not expect such stained furniture and carpet in a hotel such as Harbourlights. Room service was average. We were told it would be done every third day, which was fine with us. What was not okay was when we returned from a reef trip day out and room service had come. The room had been "cleaned". However, they had taken the towels and toilet paper and not replaced any of them. As I wished to have a shower after the reef trip, I called the front desk downstairs and requested 2 towels. I was told to give them 10-15 minutes. After more than half an hour I called them again and was told they were on their way. I feel that the house keeping and service afterwards was unsatisfactory. We enjoyed Cairns itself, but wouldn't recommend Harbourlights to our family and friends.

Spacious and impeccable location!

Rooms are modern and clean. Views of the harbor are amazing. This is prime location in the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Hotel is safe and quiet. We couldn't have asked for more. The apartment style lodging is the way to go.

Pros: location
Cons: uncomfortable furniture for watching television
Location: location excellent for all you need for a holiday.
Expected 4.5 star from the brochure, maybe 3.5 at best. Good position with short walks to everything. Be warned that rooms are cleaned every three days but reception will see that you get clean towels if requested.

Pros: テラスに出ると海が見えて気持ちが良い。 フェリーカウンターと同じビルなので朝のツアーの集合が楽。街中心部も近い。 部屋は新しくてきれい。
Cons: 予約ミスの際の対応。
Location: フェリーターミナルにごく近い。町中にも近い。
○新しくてきれいなホテル。立地と設備は非常に良い。 また、お盆休みの最後の宿泊だったが、最終日は日本人スタッフがいて空港への移動に際して安心感があった。 ×予約ミスの対応。 ・チェックインの時、部屋がないと言われた。予約の書類はホテル側にもあったのに(PC上で確認、予約がないと 言われる→私が予約の文書を見せる→カウンターの引き出しから予約文書が出てくる)。結局、部屋は確保されたのだが。 ・クリーニングに1度も来なかった。2日目に気づいて伝えた後も、結局来なかった(クリーニング希望の札はずっとかけていた) ・新しいタオルがほしいと電話をすると、ロビーまで取りに来るよう言われた。ホテル側のミスなので届けてほしかった。 ・隣の部屋で連日夜~深夜まで騒いで人が出入りしてうるさかった。 恐らく予約ミスで急遽あてがわれた部屋のため、このようなことが起こったのだと思うが、それについての説明や謝罪などは全くなかった。 ミスは起こりうることなので仕方ないですが、その対応が気になりました。対応が良かったら全て★5でした。

Check your room is what you paid for

On arriving after many hours of travel found our room not to be what we had booked and paid for even after confirming room by phone 1 week prior to arrival. After informing desk the next morning were informed hotel over booked and some being transfered to other hotels and 3 follow up visits later we received a more suitable room. Still not what the photo showed. Lady behind counter showed annoyance with us. Not our fault they over booked.

nice hotel close to beaches and shops

Pros: What we like about the motel was that it had grate service and atmosphere. Would i go back yes i would and recommend others
Cons: nothing
Location: location was central to all things you would want to do, shops activities restaurants
it was a very good experience we had in cairns We were close to every thing such as shops activities restaurants night life.

Good hotel close to city

I enjoyed my stay, although the parking was expensive and they didn't have a spot available for us on our first night which was a hassle. I was then called and told I could get an early check in and when I arrived they told me that wasn't correct so I had to wait. Also their room service price list is out dated and the prices are higher then listed.

Room Smelt of Mould

Room had a strong mould smell, grout in shower was mouldy and still had blue body wash from previous guest on tiles and in grout. Curtains were completely see through, worse than tissue paper.
