Högt pris för sunkig träkoja.Posted Jan 27, 2015 on Hotels
Inga handdukar ingick. Gamla, urtvättade lakan. För dyrt.

Very poor conditionPosted Jan 1, 2015 on Hotels
It was to my surprise to find out there was no towels in the house or any of most basic items in the house that's in working order. It'd have been fine if I had some advanced warning.

The Non-Hotel HotelPosted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: nothing, sorry....
Cons: they need a reception office. someone should be on the premises at check in time they need an phone answering service of some kind.
Location: it is on the wrong side of a busy highway from the beach. the beach is beautiful, and the nearby restaurants are very good.
We booked this room through Expedia on 02.13.14. We phoned 'hotel' that evening by local Costa Rica cell phone service to request early check in. No answer, and no answer phone or answering service. We discovered on 'hotel' website that check in was at 3pm. Proceeded on journey to 'hotel.' Phoned three more times on the morning of 02.14.14, no answer, no machine, no phone forwarding service. Arrived at 'hotel' at 3:40pm on 02.14.14. The 'hotel' is not a hotel it is a series of run-down wooden structures. There is no staff present and no reception room or office of any kind (the 'hotel' is also not signposted from or on the highway.) Residents tell us the place is very poorly run and that the woman who runs it does business from a first-floor room, which they point out to us. The old wooden stairway to this room has two inverted, twisted footboards and is unsafe to climb. The residents tell us she is not home, and ask us if one of us speaks Spanish (we do) because they want to talk about their difficulties with the place, "But the woman is never around." We leave a handwritten note on bright pink paper prominently by the staircase, secured by two heavy stones, so she will see it when she returns, with our Costa Rica cell phone number. She never calls, not that day or subsequently. We find another real hotel and book in there. This was a very disappointing experience. This 'hotel' should not be listed on a reputable site like Expedia.

5stjerners utsikt!!Posted Jan 3, 2014
meget enkel standard, savnet myggnett over sengen.

Quiet and nice view placePosted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: The nice view to the ocean, quiet place, nature around, close to other places.
Location: Great location, near of supermarkets, restaurants, banks and the beach.
Well, the place is nice. Santa Teresa it's near of many great place like Montezuma and Malpais. We got some problems with water service. The place is a little neglected, but in general facts is OK for a couple of days.

Great location with lots of characterPosted Feb 21, 2012
Pros: The pool and the view from the pool
Cons: The steep walk up made it a spot definitely for the younger folk
Location: Location was excellent - close to the beach, eateries and supermarket
The rustic style cabana we stayed in was great. The only thing was the last part of the hill to walk up was extremely steep. The caretakers were more than accommodating and offered to drive us up and down the hill whenever the need arose. I loved the porch in front. The location was excellent with great beach location and close to lots of eateries and supermarkets. The pool and the view of the ocean from the pool was super. Great little place fot the price - lots of character.

For the sake of accuracy...Posted Feb 18, 2012 on Hotels
I chose this place because based on the photos and description it appeared to be a nice budget villa. It took a few days to get used to the place and ended up being OK, but overall I would not recommend it to anyone else. Even if you are budget minded there are many other low cost options in the area. The photographs show the place to be very clean which it in fact was not. Overall I would say the place is near a state of disrepair. The plumbing is via a gravity tank and there is no hot/cold water (it's whatever the tank temperature is). When we first arrived there was no staff on site so we asked a couple that was also there and they didn't know where the owner was at (this was during the 12-5 check in time) so we returned an hour later to find the owner waiting. He was very friendly and asked us if we were OK with staying in a room with a double bed since there was someone else in the room that we had reserved (with a King sized bed). At that point the person staying in our room was right next to us and we weren't about to kick them out! We moved our things into the room while waiting for the owner to bring us sheets and towels and found that there was dirt everywhere, dirty windows with no screens, and rotten wood in the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable and the only means of keeping cool was by a small 5" fan at the bedside. The next day after the other couple left we were able to move upstairs to the room with a Kingsize bed. This room was in a similar state as the other except the sink was clogged too. Also a glass door opens to a non-existent balcony, and the door can't be closed/locked because there is wiring running out the door. Oh, neither room had cable or a TV in it either. I didn't want a TV but again, it was in the description. The kitchen was not private and was shared by two other rooms. Fortunately the other couples staying were very friendly and washed their dishes, otherwise there would have been no dishes to use. If there are more than two of you I would encourage bringing your own utensils because these were in short supply. Also if you plan on cooking be prepared to improvise with what is there (I'll leave that as a secret for the brave ones who reserve a room!) It would have been nice to take a dip in the small pool but the water was a murky brown and was functioning intermittently. One of the two loungers by the pool also had mold growing on it. Again I was able to look past all of this and enjoy my visit but the one thing I couldn't overlook were the ants. Everywhere. In fact right now I'm sitting on the bed in my room writing this as I squash the many ants crawling all over the sheets. The king sized bed is more comfortable but it's hard to sleep with ants crawling on you. I really do hope that the owner intends to invest in much needed repairs and upkeep because this place has a lot of potential, is perched on top of a 100-meter uphill climb, and has a nice view of the ocean (from one of the villas). I guess that day will be for someone else to experience though since I will not be coming back here!
