My wife and I, as well as 2 Italian friends had a wonderful 2 night stay at il Noceto. There are cows that live on the premises and the gentle clang of their bells can be heard from the inn, adding to the atmosphere. The setting is spectacular, high on a mountain overlooking Mt. Etna. You can hardly hear a thing other than the wind, so relaxing, especially coming from the craziness of Taormina and its hordes of tourists. Whatever you do, ask the warm and gracious owners Antonino and his wife Giovanna, to prepare you a meal for the evening, you won't regret it. The pasta al forno, steak, roasted potatoes and homemade dessert was so fresh and was the best food we had in Italy, as well as its best bargain. Life doesn't get any better than this.
