Perfect Getaway on the Water Beautiful Gorge Views

A Perfect Getaway on the Water with Beautiful Gorge Views!



Unbelievable location right on the Tennessee River in the heart of the Gorge. This property features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings in the living room and kitchen and large spacious bedrooms with plenty of room to sleep everyone. Enjoy views of Raccoon Mountain and the River gorge from the living room, kitchen and sun room or step out onto the massive covered porch to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets.



We have 3 Bedrooms with the following setup:



Bedroom #1: King Size bed

Bedroom #2: Queen Size bed

Bedroom #3: 2 Sets of Full over Full bunks (that is 4 full size beds total)

Rec Room: 2 full size sleeper/convertible sofas.



Walk down to the water and experience the river for all it has to offer with swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing paddling, and fishing or bring your boat and take advantage of the fully covered boat dock and slip. If staying on land is more your style you can hang out and play some games in the large, flat backyard or go and check out some of the nearby hiking and climbing. The Pot Point Nature Trail is just 1 mile down the road or head back towards town about 3.5 miles and take a hike up Middle Creek.



Make sure to visit downtown which is only 11 miles from the house and features the Chattanooga Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, Chattanooga Lookouts, Historic Bluff View Art District, Hunter Art Museum and numerous excellent restaurants. If you are lucky you might catch one Chattanooga’s many festivals or events which are a weekly occurrence most of the spring, summer and fall. Just a little past downtown on Lookout Mountain you will find Ruby Falls, Rock City, and the Incline Railway.



If you`re looking for a getaway that feels like you are miles away from anything, but actually only a few miles from everything, then the River Bunker House is just for you!



The place is all yours, but feel free to reach out if you have any questions or issues.



Things to Note:



The road to the house winds along the river and can get narrow and curvy in places - please drive with caution! If narrow winding roads intimidate you, this may not be the best place for you.



The house has neighbors on either side that are sensitive to noise disturbances. If your plans include late night partying , this is not the place for you.

Great location, really enjoyed being right on the river. Short drives to both great hiking trails and downtown Chattanooga. Snoopers Rock is a must see, absolutely amazing view.

This property was great for our family with young kids. The house was spacious and as described. Our kids loved the patio and waterfront/dock - fishing, kayaking, and swimming every day. The path to the house is windy, as noted, but not problematic and otherwise a short drive to downtown and other attractions. Thanks for having us.

Family Fun on the River!

A wonderful experience with family. The communication was excellent; host was responsive to inquiries. It was spacious and lots of bedding and towels for our large group. We fished everyday and used the kayaks. They have SUP too! Plenty of inner tubes so a large group can use the river all at once.

Great quick trip to the lake

We had a great time. The cabin was clean and lots of space for the kids. It was nice to be right on the river with a dock and paddle boards, rafts to use. It was a nice little family getaway.

The view and cleanliness at this place was great, however, the reason for the 3 star review was for a few reasons. First, when we first arrived, it was hot in the home. I mean sweating hot and they have a lock on the thermostat so there is no way to make it cooler. I even notified the owner and all he told me was that it was hot at his house too. The second issue we had was that there was no water pressure when trying to take a bath. The third issue was that this place is dated, it needs updating bad. Was definitely not the "5-star experience" they say in the information for this place.

Family trip had a great time! Wonderful home, we did the hike that’s close by and tried fishing from doc not much luck on the doc but we had a great time relaxing in the home. Also enjoyed the dogs that dropped by! Thanks for allowing us to use your home!

Amazing stay

The property as a whole fit our family of 6 and 2 dogs as well. The fenced in yard was great for the dogs and privacy. We enjoyed the fishing and kayaking while my kids enjoyed the paddle boards. If we make a return trip to the area we would definitely stay here again.

Fun family vacation

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect for families - it's right on the river with plenty of yard to play in. It's also only 15-20 minutes to downtown and even less to grocery stores (food city and whole foods are super close), coffee shops and a handful of breweries / restaurants. My daughter and I loved using the kayak and had fun trying to spot the bald eagle that nests nearby. The house is stocked with kayaks, SUPs, paddles, and life vests. The home has a solid layout - 2 beds upstairs and a basement with bunkbeds and a playroom. Kitchen is laid out well but doesn't have a ton of amenities. The home broadly could use some updating to make it 10/10 but it's hard to judge a cabin based on paint, so still perfect marks in our book.
