The health and safety of our guests is our number one priority. We try to minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via a lockboxe. Plus, our expert cleaning procedures are in line with current CDC guidelines.
Dome Rock Cabin is nestled on 5 acres that offer magnificent mountain views from every room. Dome Rock mountain is right in your back yard! This 2000 sf cabin is very cozy with its 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and two decks with seating areas and a grill. There is a wood stove in the living room and an enclosed back yard with a swing, tether ball pole, horseshoes and soft ball. Special touches from Renee and Michael will make your romantic getaway or family stay an unforgettable experience.
Dome Rock Cabin is located on 5 acres of open land, 15 minutes from both the historic mining and casino town of Cripple Creek and the local delights of Florissant. Enjoy magnificent views of Dome Rock and surrounding rock formations from every window; see if you can spot the edge of Pikes Peak between the ridges off the back porches.
We provide all the basics for you: shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, towels, linens, pots and pans, plates, cups and silverware, coffees and teas, cooking oils, condiments, cereals, and spices. We also offer board games, plus old-fashioned outdoor games including tether ball, softball, and horseshoes.
Did I mention the views? Just imagine sitting on the back decks having your morning cup of coffee while soaking up the warm Colorado sunshine and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. One of Michael's favorite parts of each day is watching the shadows descend from the tops of the mountains as the sun goes down west of the cabin. We love just relaxing and watching the red-tail hawks soaring above the fields.
This is the perfect place to enjoy the clean air and Colorado outdoors. Feel free to stroll the roads around the neighborhood with your kids and your dogs; near the entrance to Ranch Resorts they will both be thrilled to get up close to the fence with the llamas.
Whether you use Dome Rock Cabin as a base for exploring the surrounding small towns and nature adventures, or as a spot to just sit and relax in the shadows of the mountains, we know you will come away from your stay refreshed and relaxed. You will surely appreciate the less crowded roads, the offbeat little stores and old mining towns, and all the opportunities for natural adventures in a part of the state far less familiar to many visitors to Colorado.
Evergreen Station is close by for emergency shopping, gas, and a good selection of beers, and you are just 5 miles from more groceries, restaurants, and gas stations. Easy trips to Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Woodland Park and Manitou Springs/Garden of the Gods. If you’re looking to venture even further, drive 36 miles down to Colorado Springs (45 minute drive) or 70 miles to Breckenridge (an hour and twenty minutes), a beautiful ski resort town.
The Cripple Creek-Florissant area is a secluded and mountainous region rich with wildlife--we have seen several foxes, a family of mountain sheep, and a mother black bear with two cubs! In our own back yard we met up with a badger, we have plenty of ground squirrels, and don't be surprised to wake up to a herd of as many as 30 mule deer hanging out in the front or back fields (note their larger than regular ears). Neighbors have reported seeing mountain lions on the rock formation to the north.
The area between Cripple Creek and Florissant is one of our favorite places because it includes the Fossil Beds National Monument, a green space and reserve of 6000 acres that will never be developed. The park is a very interesting day trip for adults and kids alike, and as you enter Florissant there is even a shop where you can sit and search through shale brought in for your own real fossils (taken from the Monument by careful extraction, the only spot in the US that allows this activity).
We are available for guest contact at any time. There is a lockbox on the door. You will be given a code when you book and will be able to check in by yourself.
