"It was horrible! Don't trust the online pics or the list of amenities they supposedly have. Cabins are the worst, we rented 5 in our group for a family reunion & all were horrible. We all ended up staying at a ranch half hour away & losing our paid reservation but they really could care less!The getaway cabin which was supposed to be nice, had sewer problems & the smell was gaging! They will tell you its the well water to just run hot water & not only does this not work, you end up with cold...

"First, the good: The hotel was very clean, fully renovated. It looks old on the outside, but the inside of our room was all new. New tile, new smart tv, new AC unit, new toilet, new bathroom door, new tub, new paint on all walls. The beds were not new, but were comfortable. The microwave was ok and the mini fridge was also ok. Everything worked fine. The smart tv was a plus, we were able to watch Netflix at night after our long hikes in the Hill Country. The parking lot was very clean, and very quiet. No homeless people or suspicious activity outside. Our stay was good, and the hotel is about 30 minutes from Garner State Park and 45 minutes from Lost Maples, which were our itinerary for this hiking trip. Now, the bad: there is a railroad just behind the hotel and there is train activity at night, which made it noisy at times. Another thing to consider is that this hotel is in Sabinal, TX, which is a one street old town. There's a gas station, a Burger King, a DQ, a Dollar General, and a local taco place, that's all, there's absolutely nothing else to do or to eat. And last, I need to mention that my son and I got really sick with a cold and nasal congestion because the new AC unit is installed on the upper wall close to the ceiling and blows super cold air straight to our faces, which made us sick. Typically, AC units are installed on the lower wall so it doesn't blow directly on your face. So we are sick now, but the hikes were amazing and the hotel was ok."

"Outstanding experience! The place was clean and beautiful! The host was excellent from the moment we booked! The home was very spacious and comfortable, the outside area was perfect with plenty to do! We played basketball, volleyball, horseshoe and to top it off the pool was clean and big enough for the entire family! Definitely coming back!"

"We enjoyed our time at the house. Positives: Lots of beds, pool was clean, large kitchen, huge table, lots of outdoor seating options, close proximity to the river and Garner state park. Negatives: only 2 small couches for a house that accommodates 24 people which meant there was no where to relax. Beds were very uncomfortable. The listing description did not mention that only the king bed is inside the main house, all of the other bedrooms are separate from the main home. The property itself is very small, no room for kids to run around or scenic views to enjoy. We come to the area to have room to spread out and unfortunately this home the only yard was the concrete pool area, it was closed in from every side so there were no views to enjoy. The only side that wasn't closed in was the one facing the road, and the pool area is about 1 car length away from the road (not much privacy from all of the cars driving by).. The pool is small and feels crowded when it has more than 8-10 people, our group was 24 so we could not enjoy it altogether as we have been able to do at other homes we have rented.. that was probably the most disappointing part..Overall it is a nice home but the owners should really consider investing in better/new mattresses."
