“The exterior of the building is wonderful along with the grounds. The interior however is extremely run down and our first room We were given smelt damp and had to be moved to a better room but still then extremely basic and cleaning standard not great. Not helped also by the fact they only offer housekeeping every 3 days. Hotel with huge potential but not being looked after and requires urgent attention would not recommend anyone to stay there”

“El hotel por fuera es muy bonito, pero por dentro muy viejo y sucio (bañera sucia con pelos, secador y mandos pegajosos, paredes y techo llenos de papeles para tapar imperfecciones, cortina q nunca con mal olor, ventanas con pestillos rotos) con habitaciones oscuras y muebles antiguos. Sólo estuvimos 5 minutos en la piscina porque no se aguantaba el olor a cloro. El desayuno básico, de panes sólo tenían pan de molde y pregunté si tenían cola cao para mi hijo, y la respuesta fue no. ”

“Room was very dated, had a musty old smoke smell. The bathroom was in desperate need of renovations. Parts missing from the tap, a weird old dirty attachment randomly stuck to the wall, the bath was marked and scratched (looked very dirty so did not use). Breakfast was an absolute shambles, it was so busy and crowded with no systems in place, there was barely any food left and seemed to be only one person refilling the food station. “Rooms were clean, well appointed and were massive. The wardrobe being situated in the bathroom is a little odd. The parking is charged at £13 per night so quite pricey. Breakfast good, bar area nice. Staff very friendly and helpful.”

“Breakfast was ok, but it would have been nice to have more variety. The coffee machine only dispensed hot water, leaving instant coffee as only available option. It would have been great to have a coffee machine that brewed fresh coffee or at least a simple coffee maker with whole beans. However, there were hot food options available for a traditional British breakfast, which I found to be very nice. “Let us check in an hour earlier due to a long drive which was extremely helpful, the room was clean and bigger than expected. Found at checkout you can pay £5 to gain access to the neighbouring hotels pool and sauna which would have been good to know at check in. Will stay again.”

“Staff were very accommodating to our request as we were staying with our slightly nervous dog. They gave us a room with easy access in and out of the hotel, which was very helpful. The rooms were very well insulated and kept the noise down. Breakfast was excellent too.”

“Hotel facil de encontrar. Algo alejado de algunos sitios pero bastante cercano a otras. La habitación muy grande y comoda. Cama bastante comoda. Baño grande, aunque con el plato de ducha mejorable. Puerta corredera de baño. Parking suficiente para aparcar y cerca de sitios para comer”

“Lovely staff, fast food nearby. Dont be fooled by thinking its a short walk to the train station! (Google tells you to walk along a dual carriageway) the station does however have free parking. Or a 20 minute walk through an industrial estate. A convenient hotel for anyone going to concerts or events in Cardiff.”

“Couldn’t shower due to the very low roof in the bathroom, and I hit my head on it. When I booked I was led to believe that a full breakfast was included in our tariff, and we were asked to pay if we wanted it. No fan in our stuffy room either”
