“Nice clean and well appointed room. Friendly staff. Parking a hassle though - there's a small car park over the road which was full each evening, leaving on street (in a bit of a dodgy location) or other paid parking nearby. Good selection of restaurants nearby.”

“Room was clean full of feature like iron, ironing board, kettle and tea, sugar and sweetner. Air conditioning...super. Staff was very polite and helpfull and breakfast was excellent. Everything for every taste. Definitely worth every penny. Super”

“Very dated. No usb chargers or even plug points near beds. Bathroom very old and feel dirty, even though they clean, due to how aged and worn out they are. Window lets in a lot of noise. Ok for a quick one night stay. On the plus side, staff was excellent and breakfast was great.”

“Awful. Had homeless on the entry steps. Police in reception dealing with something. Delapidated. And needs money to at least fix cracks in wall and paint it. Needs a good clean the stairs had years of dust on them. Looks like a hotel that the owners have just forgotten about.”

“Very close to the train station”

“Room - Spacious with gorgeous view. We stayed in the standard double. For the price we were really impressed. Only issue was with the on-suit shower. The main shower head was not high enough, so I couldn’t stand upright in the shower (I am 6ft exactly) The second shower head that was available leaked on the connector slot, spraying water everywhere, but for an overnight stay it was manageable. Towels were offered. Bed was form and pillows were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.……

“We had a great stay at this historic hotel. Check in/check out was smooth. Great breakfast selection with hearty portion. Room is clean and bed is just the right firmness that you can wake up rejuvenated without backache. We also like how they stock plenty of welcome drinks and snacks in room to give us coziness to wind down in the cool weather.”

“Mixed experience, some good, but room for improvement We stayed for one night as a family of four in a family room. There were some definite positives. We had dinner in the pub and the food was lovely. Breakfast was alright, perfectly acceptable, but nothing particularly memorable. The outdoor area was a real highlight for us as a family. There is a lovely play area for the children as well as a nice outdoor seating area, and our children really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there were also a……
