El Eden Tours

El Pescador was great for our family of four. It’s an older hotel without all the bells and whistles, but it’s clean, the staff are lovely, the pool is fun and the location is great for those who like to explore. Our room had one massive king bed, three single beds, two balconies, AC and was basic, but quite spacious. The beds are firm (which I like) and you can hear traffic and music from the street. The location is great as it’s within walking distance to anything you need: groceries, laundry, restaurants, street food, the Malecon, etc. There also a ton of taxis. The beach is rocky and less “white sand resort” and more neighbourhood hangout zone. We got water shoes and had a great time playing in the waves. The staff are helpful, kind and accommodating to those of us who should have put more effort into the language before we traveled. If you’re looking for a home base while you go out and explore, this is a great option. If you plan to spend a lot of time at your accommodation and not travel around, this may not be the place for you.

The Casa Ritual was quiet. Tasteful. Figuratively and literally! The food was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful yet not overbearing. I enjoyed the pool courtyard area n particular; beautiful, verdent greenery. Lovely birdsong. The water was perfect. And there was never more than 1-4 people in the pool, which was nice if you like it quiet, which we do. I also really liked the cute little bathroom with a small window that opened to the pool courtyard. The neighbourhood also felt like an oasis. Suggestions include adding a chest of drawers to the room along with some additional hooks. We were left needing to leave some things in our suitcase for the week because it didn't all fit into the single wardrobe which only had four hangers in it upon our arrival. That said, staff was very responsive when we requested some additional hangers. Also suggest adding another comfortable chair to the room so that people can sit somewhere other than the desk chair or bed. Also suggest turning the AC on in the room prior to guest's arrival; we arrived late at night and it was pretty stifling after presumably heating up all day. The only other suggestion would be maybe to reconsider playing music in the courtyard 9:00-9:00. I understand that you are trying to set a relaxed tone, but - for me - it became a bit relentless. But that is a minor suggestion! All and all I would heartily recommend this to any traveller who likes things quiet, simple, slower, restful and kind.

The hotel was good. The bathroom needed maintenance, the bathroom door never could be closed completely. The mattresses need to be changed. We haven’t received the bill or receipt for the stay.
