      Family Reunion

This property is a great place! Perfect for a getaway for a larger group. Out of the way enough to release our COVID19 worries and just have a grand time.

      5/5 Excellent

        Loved Pheasant Run Lodges!

We had a family reunion for 50 people--it was wonderful. Having the whole place to ourselves was very important to us--mothers felt their children were safe. There were lots of things to do, accommodations were nice, the commercial kitchen was fantastic! Seating for 50 in the dining area would have been nice--we didn't all fit there at one time. Really this was as close to ideal as we can imagine anyplace to be.

Great Spot for large # of guests

I want to be honest and also be fair to Pheasant Run. I'd like to start off by saying this place is designed to accommodate a lot of people, we had around 47 and there was extra spaces/rooms. With that being said, not all rooms, accommodations are created equal. Not every 4 people have one bathroom, overflow downstairs had issues with bathrooms, I wish Zach would have mentioned that prior to our arrival. So keep in mind, ask Zach if there is any issues with plumbing/amenities/etc the week of your arrival. I'd also like to add, the property sits on what appears to be lake bed so some sitting water which attracts flies and mesquites. Don't stay outside during evening times and you won't get bit and there's plenty of fly swatters to be used if they get inside. Summer time (Aug 2) is just that season for the insects, but it's ok if you are an outdoor type of folks. If you are city folks, just be prepared with repellents. Other than that, plenty of space for activities. Volley ball court and basketball court both functioning allow two groups of folks to do things. Plenty of grass area as well and bon fire pits. (I'd like to thank Bob for putting together the fire for us and lighting it as it rained during the day and he thought we may have issues getting fire going) Kitchen: plenty of space for serving food. Multiple burners and flat top grill allowing super fast cooking for 50 people. Fridge is industrial so plenty of space! Pool table in good working order and AC units are great! Downstairs overflow area does not have AC. Overall the experience was great, the staff was great! Thank you Zach for your help.

            Perfect Family Reunion Location!

We had over 40 people attend our family reunion this year. Pheasant Run was the perfect spot! There are 3 close buildings with beds and bathrooms galore! We even had spare bedrooms! 14 bdrms and 14 baths is wonderful! The dining room area is large and seated all of us. I LOVE the kitchen! Being in charge of the meals was easier with the industrial sized fridge, ovens, stoves, griddles, deep fryer, freezers,. The counter space and cupboards were great! There were a lot of things for the kids to do, too! Hot tub, volley ball net, 4 hole putting green, 1/2 court basketball pad with pickle ball equipment 3 gas fire pits outside. One of them under a nice gazebo. There is plenty of outdoor seating and lots of trees for shade when we were watching kids play on all the grass around the property. We loved that it was out in the middle of fields away from neighbors and noise. Plus when we were making noise, we didn't have to worry about bothering anyone. The view of the valley and the sunrises were amazing! Beautiful area! Can't wait to go back!

            3/5

It was the worst of times, it was the best of times

I am having a really hard time trying to decide how to review this property because some things were absolutely amazing and some things were pretty crummy. I will start with the things that we loved. The amount of space and the number of rooms was fantastic. It is so hard to find places that will accommodate large groups like we had. They also had a fair number of bathrooms, which was great, but there were some bathrooms that were not installed yet (?) or that were out in a hallway instead of in-room as we expected. We were very happy to find some unexpected additions like another den and a basketball/pickleball court available. Zach was also very responsive, which was very nice. There was also plenty of parking on the property, which was extremely helpful. Some things that were not so great: The bugs around the property in the evening were pretty awful, including inside some of the buildings because the doors had been open a lot to accommodate cleaning the first night. The cleaners were very nice but they did not do a good job cleaning and we ended up vacuuming first thing. The cleaners also did not finish cleaning the place until 2 hours after check-in time! This was really hard because we had families who had arrived and had nowhere to put their stuff and no one could really get settled in. Other maintenance issues included a broken hot tub, no A/C in half of the clubhouse, no screens in some of the bedrooms, and worst of all, we discovered that at least one of the bedrooms was infested with bed bugs!! Ack!! The other problem that we had was with the dogs. The dogs belonging to the owner?) were there with the cleaners and I have a few kids and an adult cousin who are terrified of dogs so they locked themselves inside while the cleaners were there. We thought they had taken the dogs with them, but they kept coming back and were pooping on the lawn and such. We had little kids and people walking around all over so this was extremely obnoxious. When we finally got in touch with the owner, he got it taken care of but it was really annoying to have to even deal with that. I hate giving a bad review because Zach was nice to work with, and I really feel like this place would be really amazing if they could fix these issues.
