Close to city center but below average overall

Posted Aug 20, 2017
Pros: Close to city center.
Cons: Fix the key or lock to the building because getting in is unnecessarily difficult.
Location: Near city center, close to Plaza Major, Gran Via Metro Station, Prado Museum, location is good.
The biggest problem with this place is that the key to the street access didn't work and I was always told to keep trying, etc but I always had to ring up to the front desk and it made coming and going a pain in the butt. The staff were decent but couldn't speak English and communication was difficult. There are two bathrooms that were shared but I could only shower in one of them because the other one's shower head couldn't be adjusted and would therefore spray towards the floor and make it wet. Internet was ok, but room was very drab and plain. Maybe it's ok to spend one night here if your options are limited but I wouldn't make it a long stay.

Do not stay here if you are remotely fussy! You do get what you pay for 😮

Great Location.

The room was very clean and friendly staff. The location is excellent walking distance to everything. The only complaint is the beds are very uncomfortable old and hard mattresses and the air doesn't work very well. But for a few days it's great you get to see a lot of Madrid.

Stay away from this place

Posted Apr 10, 2017
Pros: Didn't like anything about this hotel.
Cons: A lots. Please start with cleanliness.
Location: On a very bust street and was very noisy pretty much all night
This place is dirty, noisy and smells awful. We had a room with 4 beds and a private bathroom. The water pressure was so low that it was hard to use the sink and shower. This is on a very busy street and it was very noisy till 2-3 AM in the morning. Bedsheets had stains and was torn at place. Besides 4 beds, the room had 1 table and 2 folding chairs. Table was shaky. Bar to hang clothes was broken. Besides the room, stairwell and lobby etc were very dirty.

Im happy to see there are still hotels who has a nice enough rate for people of all incomes stay in Madrid even though is quite close to the center and Gran Vía. The attention was nice enough and the accommodations fitting for the price.

Downbeat hostel, badly in need of refurbishment.
