We got the Japanese Style Standard Room with 5 Single Futons, With Open Air Bath and Kaiseki (Dinner & Breakfast). Service: Excellent View: Can’t see Mt Fuji, but you can take a 20 minute bus ride from Jakotsuno Bus Stop to Mato Hakone Lake Ashi to see it. From the rooms, you can get a breathtaking view of some local mountains and the surrounding neighbourhood. Meals: It was an incredible and truly one of a kind experience. Served on the dot, with english menu course descriptions. Facilities: Book a 30 minute private onsen session at the reception. Must try.

I would pay more and go somewhere else
The property showed a bit of age, which cannot be told by the pictures. We booked this because of the good review but it is rather disappointing. There’s a strange smell in our room, which I guess is a combination of food and age ... because there’s no bed but futon bed so you actually sleep and eat in the living room area. Since, there’s no restaurant so they only serve your meal in your room. You need to choose the time of your meal and be punctual half and hour earlier to get out of bed so that they can make your bed. For a price like this, it has been a pain in your ass as a foreigner. Their service is rather rigid, though there’s a free pick up service, they only offer from Miyanoshita to their hotel. However, the train service was suspended due to maintenance during our stay so instead of train we have to take bus and the hotel would still be able to pick us up from the bus station. The problem is we do not have local phone access, we have to search for a place to make a call. It would be easier to find a place to make a call to them from the train station than just a bus stop in the middle of no where! On the day we left the hotel, it has heavy rain, so we ask if the free shuttle will just drop us off at the Miyanoshita bus stop? The answer is yes! We finally called a taxi but it has been quite a joke, the staffs English is poor too and it’s very difficult to communicate till we finally gave up. Old building, outdated services. One positive is the food is ok.

Loved it!
This ryokan is spotless, homey and well-designed. There’s no slippers in the entire hotel because it’s covered in tatami. Everyone wears the socks hotel offers. It makes the place feel extra homey. The dinner and breakfast Kaiseki cuisine is amazing at first, but we got tired of it after two days of eating it and we’re craving for ramen. The hotel even offers amazing ramen after 10pm in their lounge area! They have private outdoor onsens that you can reserve for 30 mins time slot, but you can also go to the public one which to our surprise also includes an outdoor one! What’s more impressive is that it even has a tranquil room full of massage chairs you can use free of charge. Their shuttle only takes you to the Miyanoshita bus station. The place is a bit of a walk from Miyanoshita station or Jakotsuko bus station but it didn’t bother us. The hotel staff were nice and speak pretty good English. It’s truly relaxing offering. I would go back there again!

Exellent service. They have a shuttle to pick you (or you luggage) up to the hotel at Miyanoshita 宫の下 bus stop. Walking up was very sharp and took about 15 min. Food was mostly fish-based, both dinner and breakfast. Dinner started at 7pm and breakfast had 8am and 8:30am options. Two of the three private ourdoor baths in mountain need reservation for 30 min block - we went both at night and in early morning. Both were so enjoyable. The Zen room at second floor has multiple massage chairs free for use which were very relaxing.
