4/5 Good

Quiet, secluded cove near the Burton dam.
Pros-Very quiet, nice area. Comfortable beds. Clean and stocked well with dishes, towels, etc. Nice walk in shower in master bedroom. A boat ramp is in the next cove and there was space to dock both inside and outside the boathouse. Easy entry with code. Cons-Entry road is narrow and bumpy for a car, but it was passable in an Acura. If you're in something besides a truck or SUV, either park on the side of the road or on the sloped part of the driveway. It will likely scrub if you try to park in the carport. There are 21 stairs from the entry to the main level that should be taken into consideration if there will be elderly guests staying with you. Parking a boat trailer here isn't an option so if you're bringing a boat, plan to park the trailer at the Murray Cove ramp or use Laprade's or Anchorage Marina to load/unload and park your trailer there. Moccasin Creek boat ramp isn't open yet, but should be soon. None of these would prevent us from renting this property again, but if your car sits really low to the ground and another vehicle isn't an option, or you have elderly guests with you, it might be something to consider.

Outdated listing and unexpected challenges
We had a great weekend relaxing at this property, and the owner was quick to respond and accommodating about check-in/out times. However, we all felt like reality didn't match the photos, and the place needed some TLC as others have said. The beautiful pictures of the screened in deck helped us decide on this property, but the deck was covered in leaves, the table was really dirty, and there was no good place to sit. The ladies staying upstairs said the water pressure was so strong that it was really uncomfortable take a shower and even ripped open someone's blister. There are pictures of a downstairs den with entertainment center, but the TV was not there. The light switches are also in very weird places- the switch for the kitchen lights is inside the master bedroom on the other side of the main house. The other switches in the master didn't turn any of the lights on in that room, and the switches in the den didn't turn the den lights on, Very odd and took us a lot of effort to figure out how to get lights on. The driveway is VERY steep and all of the cars bottomed out trying to get up it. I wish we would have known about that when we were deciding who should drive. Additionally, there is a very long, steep wooden staircase to get into the house, and the first night one lady slipped on the top stair in her socks and fell down about 8 stairs, hurting herself pretty badly. The handrail doesn't go all the way to the top, and this should be noted for guests that have issues with stairs.

5/5 Excellent

Ski weekend
This house was a great place to stay for a weekend while teaching the teens to ski and visiting with friends on the lake. Comfortable and the screened porch is dreamy.

Nice location on a quiet cove
We had a lovely weekend in a lovely location on the lake. The house provided everything we hoped for to make our stay comfortable. The homeowner was prompt in responding to communications and seemed genuinely eager for us to enjoy our stay. We would definitely rent again and/or recommend the property to others. My only recommendation to the homeowner would be to send check in information and directions a bit sooner. Providing the property manager’s contact information was immensely appreciated, however. .
