    5/5 Excellent

      In the heart of Honokaa

This old plantation house was modernized just enough. It still has the old feel with everything that is needed. A very welcoming and comfortable house. Highly recommend.

      4/5 Good

        Honokaa

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. There are a couple of things I'd like to note. The combination for the lockbox we were provided was incorrect. A quick call to Jeana got that sorted out. The house didn't have a welcome binder that we could find, so had to reach out again to Jeana a couple more times for wifi password and other information about the area, eg. beaches, garbage, recycling, etc. She was very helpful and got back to us promptly. The house was comfortable enough and clean and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. There is a grocery store in town. It's not big, but good for basics. Although this is a residential neighbourhood, it isn't particularly quiet. Lots of dogs barking all the time and roosters crowing. We took a walk around the neighbourhood one day, but that set off all the dogs. Roads have no shoulder so walking in general is difficult, although we did walk into town one day. Although we're close to the coast, there is no nearby access to the shore.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very pleasant stay. House had everything we needed. Code for lockbox we were given was wrong, but a quick call to the island contact got that resolved. Although it's a residential neighbourhood, it's not that quiet with dogs barking and roosters crowing at all hours. No direct access to the ocean anywhere nearbyo.

We returned to this wonderful bungalow for Christmas!

We had been here in November for a short time to visit our son and family. We returned to spend Christmas with them and enjoyed returning to familiar surroundings. The place was very welcoming and cozy. A few things were missing, but not alarming. I think the cleaning service may have changed as things were not as spanking clean as our first visit, but overall, it was very pleasant. We will return as we love the view, the house is perfect for us, and things that are missing can be augmented by the nearby store or our son's place.

            5/5 Excellent

              This little bungalow was darling!

We rented this beautiful gem because of its close proximity to our sons home in Honokaa. It was was perfect for us and our grandkids to stay overnight. We had just two issues. The living room fan didn't function, so it was a bit stuffy. We were told we could use the gas grill but the key to the security cord was missing. This would not have been a problem, however, when the grill was fired up, the cord casing ignited. Needless to say, we shut it down. Other than those two issues, we had a delightful stay and look forward to our next visit. The decor is lovely, the attention to detail is evident. It's sunny, and very comfy. The beds are the best!
