The hotel could be really nice but so many detailed failings let it down -
Located in a 'no entry' street with no sign to indicate that the hotel is actually there at all - or that entry of cars into the street is, in fact permitted for check-in/unloading.
On our arrival date the restaurant and bar were closed due to a private function and not even bar snacks were available.
Poor parking facilities - we were offered an offsite space with a folding security bollard - which was so tall, even when folded flat, that we couldn't get our car over it without hitting the bottom of the car.
No desk or anywhere you could plug in and work on a laptop.
No low-level lighting in room - you choose between blinding overhead lights or pitch darkness.
Loose/ damaged fittings in room (wardrobe door handle, toilet roll holder).
Tea-making facilities were available but milk/tea not replenished after being consumed.,
Pros: Nice 'Boutique' feel to hotel - more interesting than the big chains
Cons: Many details as already mentioned
Location: Lovely coastline, and much beautiful scenery in the vicinity, but the town of Ilfracombe itself is pretty down-at-heel.
