Great place to stay

We stayed here for 5 nights and we were made to feel very welcome. The building still has character, but is very comfortable and the modern bathroom was great. Our room (the one with the small balcony) looked exactly like the picture on the internet. Having a roof terrace was part of why I picked this hotel and it was good, but there are a lot of steps up to it and wouldn’t be good if you have mobility problems. Breakfast had a good selection of food, which differed slightly every day, but remember it is a small boutique style hotel not a large international one. We found this to be very social and was an opportunity to chat to the other guests and the owners if you wanted to. It didn’t start until 8.30am, which isn’t ideal if you are there on business and have early starts. However I’m sure, had I asked, the owners would have made arrangements for me. I didn’t find it a problem; you have tea and coffee in the room and there were lots of small shops selling breakfast pastries.
It is in a good location. 10-15 minutes’ walk and you can join up with the public transport system, which is excellent, clean and cheap (you could just about walk to the Sultanahmet region, but it is easier to get a Tram). We found it easy to buy a token for each trip (3 Turkish lira; just over £1). The owners arranged transport from the airport for us and it was worth it, especially if it is your first trip. Had I been alone, I would have felt safe here and would be happy to recommend it to anyone.
