Amazing spot!
I highly recommend this property! It is well maintained and well appointed. The outdoor patio is incredible! We loved spending time at the river and the kids enjoyed kayaking! The daily visit from the neighboring donkey was a highlight! He ate well while we were in town. We will be back and will recommend this spot! Thank you!

Great Family Retreat
We had a great stay with our six year old grandson! The house is very comfortable and well stocked with everything you need. We did pick up extra paper towels at the convenience store in Roosevelt and brought charcoal and lighter fluid with us for the BBQ pit. We enjoyed catching fish, feeding Roy carrots and apples every evening, and watching the various wildlife. I highly recommend the Roosevelt cafe. The steaks and grilled vegetables are outstanding!

4/5 Good

Flowers and starlight
Lovely Memorial Day trip. Clean house, lovely setting. Wildflowers were insanely beautiful. 3-year-old anxiously awaited Roy arrival after first night. Bring sugar as none there. S. Llano State Park must do.

5/5 Excellent

Peace and Quiet
The house was lovely and very comfortable. The fenced yard was large and perfect for our border collie to run around in. We mostly loved the quiet area. There are no close neighbors.

Home on the River
I grew up visiting this area because of family ties. In fact, this house was originally built for a distant cousin. Driving up and down River Road and stopping at Cedar Hill School, the one lane bridges and low water crossings was like coming home. My wife walked to the river every morning looking for treasures, which for her are feathers and rocks and old pieces of metal. The nights were cloudy so we didn't get to see the stars, but I did see lightening bugs. And standing in the deep dark, I could even hear Roy breathing in the next pasture. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. We made a trip to Junction on the second day to grocery shop, but didn't leave River Road for the rest of the trip. And even though we didn't get down there this trip, if you have a chance, visit Roosevelt and check out the cafe. It is as good as the menu looks. We are already planning our return trip for later this summer.
