Just needed a place close the Windham mountain. The room and shared bathroom was clean. Older place. Hasn’t been updated in years, but it gives it character. Staff was friendly and easy to work with. Left before breakfast for the slopes.
We got to the lodge an hour after our check in time so be greeted by I’m guessing the owner who told us to go wait in the dining hall for 15 minutes so he could clean the floors? We were then taken to our room which looked much more run down then the picture online, the bed was screwed to the wall??? But the sheets were clean and we were tired so we didn’t care. I went to use the bathroom and was disgusted by how dirty the toilet was, the shower floor I wouldn’t stand on in flip flops and a dirty sink. Needless to say it was gross. We had access to a kitchen but there was no option for us to use it because there were no plates or pans or anything. We were told that we wouldn’t hear the traffic at night which we did and there is a light that was on right outside our window the entire night. Needless to say, we woke up early, skipped the free breakfast because I didn’t want to eat anything from there and drove home tired. Will not be returning.
This was our favorite stop from maine to philly. There is a 2 mile hike to a waterfall next door. A decent mexican restaurant and shopping down the street. The hotel is a repurposed house, but it was awesome. The pegasus room was like a small apartment with kitchen and bathroom. Very cozy. The breakfast was delightfull with tablecloths and crystal glasses. The owner is hungarian and has kept his european style throughout the house. It felt like we were staying in a hostel in budapest . He was very hospitable and made sure we were comfortable after check in with extra blankets. The staircase is complete with creeky floors and and beautiful views.
The location was wonderful. The owner very nice as was the breakfast. The bedroom was nice and cozy and we did not use the kitchen but nice to know it was there. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again.
It was located up the mountain across the street from hiking. It is on the main road so you do get road noise but for the price I was fine with it as I live in a big city and am used to it, but if you want peace and quiet its not the place for you. It is very cute and vintage and comes with breakfast which was nice.
