"I was expecting so much more in a historical property. The vibe is very sterile, and most of the restaurant/bar options that show up on the listing on Hotels.com are NOT available. The pool bar has not been open for SEVEN YEARS. The coffee shop was not open for four of the seven mornings we were there. The on-site restaurant and hotel bar are only open Thursday-Sunday (again, that information is not shared on the Hotels.com listing."

"The music in the lobby was so loud that neither the clerk nor ourselves could hear each other at check in. The decorations, colors and furniture were as if Austin Powers had an interior design firm and decorated the hotel. Common area carpets and in room furniture looked like it needed to be cleaned. The curtains in our room had paint stains on them and the blackout shade was missing. We were told by staff that they were always breaking and wouldn’t be replaced. The staff, except for the valets, were standofffish and seemed to be afraid to interact with the guests. The hotel restaurant had a limited menu, much of which was not appealing. The Funny Library Coffee Shop’s hours were too limited as was the pastry selection. The bar staff was not engaging and the cocktails were average. Richard Branson is now in his 70’s. There’s no need to have pictures of him in each room from when he was in his teens. I would imagine if Jerry Jones of Dallas Cowboys fame had a hotel he’d do the same thing. The best part of the hotel is it’s location and the views but the rooms are small for what you pay."

"Love this hotel. We stay here every time & it never disappoints. The staff make you feel so special & are always so willing and able to help with anything you need. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. This hotel is centrally located and perfect for any trip to New Orleans!"

"We especially loved the great location in the heart of the French Quarter but on a quieter street. The common rooms were very nice and always clean, the guest rooms were spacious enough and also very clean and quiet. The staff gets an A+! From the people at the front desk, to the bellmen helping with luggage and taxis, to the housekeeping staff and bar/restaurant staff, the hotel was run by extremely cheerful, helpful and nice people. I would stay there again the next time I visit New Orleans."
