About this property

Tentrr Signature Site - The Look Out at Chill Hill

Campground in Ticonderoga with balcony
The land itself provides world-class panoramic views of the Adirondack High Peaks and the Green Mountains of Vermont.

The site is also only a five-minute drive to the Queen of American Lakes, Lake George. There is so much to do and see in the town of Lake Georges. Spend the day shopping, find dining, or just enjoyed the scenic views. In Ticonderoga, less than 10 minutes away you will also find great restaurants and hiking trails. Check out LaChute River Trails and Cook Mountain Preserve for some amazing scenic views.

For an extra cost, campers have the opportunity to enjoy a guided pontoon boat tour on one of the many freshwater lakes the area has to offer. We provide a shuttle to and from the campsite.

The Space:
Hilltop hideaway campsite in the Adirondacks with miles of mountain and lake views!

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with farmers, ranchers, and other property owners to offer unique outdoor accommodations on beautiful private land. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! You'll have the entire campsite to yourself, as you'll be the only Campers enjoying this piece of paradise.

Each campsite includes a 10'x12' safari-style canvas tent on a raised platform, and you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed inside (each site is different, see photos for the exact setup). Larger groups can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided (you’re welcome to bring your own camping gear too). You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.

What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling
-Lanterns and lighting

Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. Line the bucket with a CleanWaste bag supplied at the camp (or another appropriate plastic bag) prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. We got this idea from bathrooms used on NASA spaceships, and we've used the Tentrr Loo countless times ourselves- don't worry!

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

*Please Note: The site is about a 15 minute hike up the mountain from the parking area. Please plan accordingly and try to arrive before dark if possible.

Other Things to Note:
DO wake up and watch the sunrise from bed. DO the 20-minute hike from the campsite to go check out the high peaks. DO take a guided pontoon boat tour on at least one body of water.

Interaction with Guests:
In the age of social distancing, isolated time can still be quality time - especially when you’re unplugged and out in nature - and we want you to know that the Tentrr team and our hosts are working together to make sure you have a safe and relaxing experience. Our hosts have been doing a great job ensuring our campsites are clean and spotless for your arrival. We ask that you do your part as well - maintain social distancing, clean up after yourselves, and leave no trace - so that everyone in our camping communities can enjoy these cherished outdoor spaces.

To limit the potential impact of community spread during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are encouraging our campers and hosts to adopt self-check in procedures whenever possible. To make self check-in easy, Tentrr provides a map to your site and driving directions in an email sent out a few days before your reservation. Please refer to this guide to get to your campsite. As a reminder, it is good practice to give your host a head's up on your estimated arrival time a few days beforehand. If you need any assistance, you can reach out to your host through the contact information provided in your confirmation email.
Rooms open to balconies. Bathrooms include showers.

Adirondack Magic!
Adirondack Magic! My boyfriend and I stayed here Sept 23-26 and we had the most beautiful weather. Warmed up during the day, chilly at night, but we brought extra heavy blankets which worked perfect, didn’t even need the wood burning stove. Kitchen came with more than we thought! Brought our tea kettle which came in handy. Easy to cook and clean up was not bad either! I’d recommend grabbing extra water and wood, we used the water for washing dishes in the red basins, and for showering with the camp solar shower everyday so it went fast. Also grabbed two extra bags of wood, there was one bag to start us off which was great. The toilet set up honestly was great! They have a cute curtain strung up if you’d like privacy, and there were plenty of extra bags to reline the bucket. Fire pit is perfect, we gathered our own kindling from around the site, and brought dryer lint as fire starter, but there were fire starter bricks if needed. We brought our hammocks and straps and picked a few good trees to string them up which was a great addition to the experience. I’d bring extra lanterns, the two we had came in handy. Packed a larger cooler with food and ice and kept all our food and any scented belongings in the orange box a few feet away. No problem with any wildlife, so many chickadees and chipmunks that come to visit. At night we heard some wild dogs howling off in the distance which was really cool! Camp is about a mile up from the property owners home, so you’re nice and secluded, surrounded by nothing but beautiful nature! What really made our experience special were the wonderful family that own this property. Adam, the camp keeper, and his father Mike were so welcoming and accommodating. They’d drive us up to site whenever we needed, and Adam was easy to reach if I had any questions. Cell service is good up at the site by the way. The walk down is easy, took us about 15 minutes. We also made fast friends with the family dog Gnars, who comes to greet you when you arrive. We love dogs and he is such a good boy. One night he surprised us with a visit up at camp after we had just finished making dinner, and enjoyed sitting beside the fire with us. Adam had to come get him as it was dark, but he was an absolute pleasure to have for a visit! Between the beautiful colors of the trees, the incredible view, and the wonderful family that chose to share this with us, this Tentrr was an amazing experience that we look forward to coming back to.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Location great. Host was wonderful. He was often available to give us ride up to site from parking area and we walked down each morning. Sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. Easy driving distance to a number of great hikes. We made coffee and oatmeal every morning using propane grill before heading out.

Great view
We spent two nights at the property. It was secluded, private and beautiful. The road up to the site was not passable with vehicle, but we were aware of this ahead of time and it was not a surprise. The surprise was how kind and generous both Justin and his dad were, with helping us get up to the property on a rainy day arrival and upon departure. The tent is a one mile hike gently up a rough road. Don't expect cell service up there, so once you're up - you're on your own, but that is just what we wanted and were not surprised by anything. The stove heated the tent up nicely on cold nights and the sunrise was INSANELY beautiful. Good sized tent and great deck. Cooking area with double burner camp stove and all the cooking fuel and stove wood you need. We didn't use the fire pit, but it looked fun and there was dry wood for that, as well.

What a view to wake up to!
This is the best campsite in the Adirondacks!! Completely secluded and private, very well equipped with basic amenities, and with the most gorgeous sunsets every morning... This site did not disappoint. The tent and bed itself was quite comfortable and the outdoor toilet and shower were an interesting experience. Adam was a great host, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The pictures don't do the site justice, you have to go see it for yourself!
