Probably the best B&B in England

Posted May 29, 2017 on Hotels
We have been to England 3 times. We were there 5 weeks this trip. Tor Cottage is the best B&B we'very ever stayed in. The owner is wonderful and determined to make your stay the best ever. The rooms are cottages and are all wonderful. Ours was large with s stone walls and with a wood beamed, vaulted ceiling. There is a creek outside so we listened to the wonderful sound of flowing water. Freshly made scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream was served when we arrived. The breakfast was fantastic with many plates of fruit beautifully served. The hot breakfast was made to order. The staff is friendly and also determined to make your stay perfect. If there is any drawback it is that Tor Cottage is difficult to find because it is at the end of a gravel, unnamed road. The owner emails directions which helps but you'll wonder if you'very made a wrong turn anyway. GPS or good directions are essential to find Tor Cottage but it's worth the challenge

Wonderful little place...

Pros: Everything...
Cons: Nothing...
Location: Lovely location, though we were not there long enough to visit much of the surrounding area.
Could not recommend this place enough. In a quiet, pretty location, the cottage is perfectly placed for a quiet weekend away. Our room was lovely; spacious but cosy, and spotless, with good facilities. We were left a welcome basket of fruit, fudge and Cava, which was a really nice touch. Breakfast was fantastic with good quality ingredients and served in a relaxed atmosphere. Maureen could not have been more warm and welcoming when we arrived, and had even made a very tasty cake for my birthday! Anne was very friendly and chatty at breakfast, and the resident dogs are adorable! Wish we could have stayed longer than two nights, and hope to return one day.
