Generally fine.Posted Feb 11, 2013
Location: Perfect for Excel but a £40 taxi back from town if your out late......
Breakfast was decent, hot and cold. Staff were fine, Rooms were clean but 'compact'. However my room had no bedside table and no internet. However my colleagues room did so I think I was just unlucky and I reported it for them to fix. If you get room 329 and they havnt replaced the bedside table let me know....

Not up to usual standard!Posted Jan 27, 2013
Pros: Situated adjacent to DLR and rapid transport into the city.
Cons: Unusually poor room.
Location: Good for events at the Excel and City airport.
Following several enjoyable and successful visits we were surprised to find that this weekend we were provided with a superior double room which was not in any way superior. Both the bedroom and ensuite bathroom were small. The beds springs were rather more prominent than normal and could be seen as well as felt under the bottom sheet. Both daylight and view from the window were restricted by a metal box situated on the sill and obscuring half the window. This structure however provided a well used meeting place for the local pigeons. Since the hotel did not appear to be fully booked I wonder why we should be allocated a poor room when I know from past experience that many other rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet however was as usual, a welcome oasis providing an ample selection of tasty hot and cold food. The staff as always efficient and helpful.

Great hotel - close to ExcelPosted Jan 24, 2013 on Hotels
The hotel is less than a 2 minute walk over a bridge to Excel Exhibition centre. Fantastic location. The hotel is clean and well looked after. The car park is onsite as well which is a bonus. The breakfast buffet is really good with a good selection and all in all I had a great stay. The room wasn't the biggest, but it was clean and well kept.

Now an IBIS hotel ! Very well kept but tiny room.Posted Jan 21, 2013 on Hotels
This was a lower cost hotel quite a ways east of London. The room we had was extremely small, especially by US standards, and cold (wife's big issue), as was the lobby, which was the only place the wifi worked. Of course if your not going in the middle of winter, this is a non-issue. It's a bit out from the city but the subway is right across the street so super convenient. There's a great pub and restaurant in attached as well as an additional restaurant. That was the best part, great food and drink. The place was well kept, definately newer and clean but tiny, not much bigger than our bed. Service was fine. This place would be fine if you are going to the Excel center for a day or want something inexpensive and are willing to take the subway to get to funner areas, which actually would be fairly quick and easy. I personally would prefer something in a little more interesting area but as discount places go, not bad.

Ibis Styles HotelPosted Jan 21, 2013 on Hotels
Firstly, I was confused as to where I was staying as eventually after calling the the hotel it has recently been taken over by Ibis and is now known as Ibis Styles Hotel. No mention of custom house hotel, apart from some old stationary they were still using in the rooms. The hotel was very convenient, next to custom house DLR STOP, ideal for ExCel London Boat Show. very clean, tidy and breakfast quick and convenient.

We didn't pay much for our weekend break and the bed was a bit hard, but the staff were really friendly and helpful and made it a delightful stay! The DLR was much more convenient than I thought it would be. We also liked the adjacent pub, especially as the area felt a bit unsafe (although I don't know for sure).

Perfect service for low pricePosted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: room, staff, location, quietness, comfort
Cons: nothing to complain about
The hotel is located next to the DLR Station "Custom House (for Excel)". Connections to the City of London are operating every 5-10 minutes. The hotel itself has been completely refurbished. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, but absolutely okay for normal builded people. The staff was really kind and helpful. Reception is 24 hours in operation. There is a pub/cafe integrated in the hotel, which is really comfortable, too. Everyone looking for a good inexpensive hotel quite near to the City of London should definetely book this one! Absolutely recommended.

hotel afastado do centro de Londres.Posted Jan 7, 2013 on Hotels
