Located in the Hollywood hills a couple miles from Universal Studios, this home has a great location and nice views. The house itself is old. Old to the point that it's become quaint. The floors, stove and bath are all original and pretty cool.
There are a couple of things which are detractors however.
There is no lock or latch on the antique bathroom door requiring some house rules to ensure privacy. The bed in the larger of the two small bedrooms is a mattress on the floor with a wide wood frame around it. The whole thing cannot be more that 8" high. The frame seems to be intended mainly for snubbing ones toes while the bed height is suitable only for Yoga aficionados.
Dealing with the property management was brusque. They were quick to send stern warnings of house rules and to run amok in the home with a label maker, but not nearly as quick to provide the check in information. I received a note indicating that they'd transmit check in instructions an hour before the 4 pm check in time. They also indicated that if we had problems they would be available till 5, otherwise contact them in the morning. In the end we got the codes about ten minutes before the 4pm check in, and we were fortunate that there were no access issues as we did not arrive until after 5.
Perhaps they have dealt with too many LA people...;)
