Cottage Retreat 1/2 Block to Beach & Bike Path! Includes 2 Bikes. Bring the Dog!

Vacation home with kitchen, near Northern Michigan University
Thanks for looking at our vacation cottage! This is a four seasons home that is ready to keep you warm through a U.P. winter storm or welcome you in the summer to a cool lake breeze. At 414 SF, this house is sized for a couple looking to escape to the U.P. We are pet friendly, so bring your dog! The home is located in Marquette's historic East Side and is only a half block to the most popular beach in Marquette. From Spring through Fall, the rental includes two 3 speed cruiser bikes. With the bike path less than a 30 second pedal away, it's up to you to decide if you want to go to Presque Isle Park, the Third Street Village, the downtown restaurants or Farmer's Market, or maybe the brew pubs after a full day on the beach, mountain biking, or skiing. The home has been decorated with a mix of whimsy and local history. It has a comfortable queen sized bed, air conditioner, new furnace, and washer and dryer. The home also includes WiFi and Netflix. The patio doors in the living room open to a deck and a private backyard. The deck has a patio set and deck chairsl. The private backyard is fenced in with convenient access from the patio doors. The home is pet-friendly and allows up to two dogs for an additional $75 per dog. (Because the VRBO billing system only accounts for one dog, please let us know if you will be bringing two dogs and we will add the additional charge to your reservation.) Pets are not allowed on the furniture and bed and we do ask that you clean up after your dog after he uses the yard with the disposable doggie bags that are provided in the shed. This house is a carriage house, which means it shares the property with another house. The other house is occupied by quiet long-term renters. The driveway is shared with the long-term renters but your home has its own allotted parking space and has its own private fenced in backyard. We are locals and live just a block away! We are happy to help you make the most of your stay. We don't think you'll find a better location in Marquette and look forward to hearing from you!
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer coffee/tea makers and hair dryers. Rooms open to patios. Accommodations offer separate living rooms. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and separate dining areas. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or nearby; fees may apply.

5/5 Excellent

Great spot in Marquette
The house was in a great location. We’re hoping to come back in the summertime to enjoy the closeness to the path along Lake Superior. The bed was really comfortable too. Fellow tall people should know the bathroom is small and the toilet is positioned awkwardly (though manageable).

5/5 Excellent

All around awesome
Great property in a perfect location. Walking distance to everything, the fenced in yard and rear deck is a huge plus. Nice hot shower with good pressure! Excellent communication with the property owner.

5/5 Excellent

Great place to stay!
This is a great place to say while in Marquette. Great location! We have stayed at the "cottage" several times and we'll be back :-) !!

5/5 Excellent

My now husband and I spent our wedding weekend here (apart and then together). The house is incredibly cozy and clean. Our dog loved the outdoor space. The bed was the best out of the other rental properties we’ve stayed. And Greg was a phenomenal host. We will be back!

5/5 Excellent

Best Cottage in Marquette!
We could not have been happier with our stay at Greg and Kate’s cozy cottage! If you are looking for a clean and cozy spot to relax and snuggle up… look no further! Huge bonus: Dog friendly with big, fully fenced in back yard! When entering through the front door, there is a convenient little mudroom with a washer, dryer, coat hooks, and a boot tray. The kitchen is full of amenities, literally anything you would need to cook, dine, and drink (including 2 frosted beer mugs in the freezer). The bed was so comfy and we really enjoyed hanging out in the homey living area with tv, books and games provided for entertainment. Marquette/UP themed artwork and old photographs throughout the house are the perfect finishing touch. We also spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful yard. The slider in the living room leads out to the huge deck with 2 Adirondacks and a patio table with chairs for 4. The fenced yard has a gate which you can enter/exit if you want to get from the car to the backyard without entering the house. This came in handy when we needed to dry off from our swims and shake Superior sand off our feet. The cottage is quietly tucked away, only steps from the beach and the Lakeshore Blvd path (right between McCarty’s Cove and Picnic Rocks) so the views of the stars from the deck at night are incredible! Every little detail was perfect- from the beautifully landscaped path that leads to the front door, to the thoughtful welcome basket and information binder left out on the table, to the gorgeous freshly cut single flowers left in the bathroom and on each bedside table. We could tell the cottage means a lot to Greg and Kate and they invest a lot of love and care in making it the perfect cottage oasis for us to enjoy, which made everything that much more special to us! This review quickly turned into a novel but I’ll wrap this up by saying Greg and Kate made it so hard to leave! Communication with them was great and they were kind enough to accommodate a few special requests. We hope to be back soon!
